Question about Acer Aspire 5500 5570-2609 Laptop
I did a factory reset and now i have no dvd drive. It is not even showing up in the device manager but it still turns on and spins the disk. Is there anything that i can do to fix this.
I have an acer aspire 5520 with vista on it
Thanks in advance.
Try going into your bios (accessed by pressing a certain key when the computer boots, usually Del, F1, F2, F10, F11 or F12) and checking to make sure that your DVD drive is still enabled. Make sure that all SATA and IDE devices are set to enabled or Auto function.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Tips for a great answer:
Feb 12, 2013 | Toshiba TS-L632 DVD±RW Burner
Oct 25, 2012 | Computers & Internet
Mar 05, 2011 | Lite On SHD-16P1S Internal DVD Drive
Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders
This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.
If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer
Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.
hope this helps
