Question about Akai LCT3201TD 32 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

Akai LCT3201TD When turning the power on, the standby light changed to green then a second later it turns back to red. If you flip the main power switch on the back of the tv off then on, usually the tv would start working again. It is only a few months old. So now no matter what I do the standby light turns back to red everytime.

Multiple attempts to Turn on the TV

It's common for capacitors on the power supply board to go bad (tops will swell up) and cause the same problem. these new LCD tv's are all very bad when it comes to power surges.

My LCT3201AD is plugged in and the standby light under the screen is on (red LED). Repeated attempts using both remote and side Standby/Power switch result in the LED turning green for only a few seconds...

Remove the power supply and replace the three (3) capacitors soldered to it. They will be rated at something in the neighbrohood of 16v. Replace them with larger capacitors, something in the neighborhood of 35v.
