Question about Saeco Vienna SuperAutomatica Coffee Maker/Espresso Machine

No coffee I de-scaled it and ran 2 tanks of water through. Water comes out of the wand fine, but when I hit the brew button it grinds, but coffee grounds are not getting any water running through, and then the red light for the beans lights up. It disposed of the grounds OK, but the ground seem pretty dry. So, no coffee

Hi
Open the door and remove the grounds drawer and brew unit. Check the injector nozzel in the back of the machine and see if you have 2 orange o-rings. If you don't that is the problem. If you do, check that the gatevalve is opening. That is located between the 2 orange o-rings towards the bottom. Also check that the gatevalve has 90 degree legs. They should not be bent in. If they are you need to replace the gatevalve.

We had exactly the same problem. I called the repair shop that had done some repair and maintenance work on our Seaco Vienna superautomatica 3 months before. They had some suggestions which seemed to work:

The problem with the descaling is that the water with the descaling solution only gets flushed through the hot water wand but not through the outlet that leads to the brew group, so small mineral residue that get loosened can get stuck in there. After having the coffee machine turned on and heated up, I removed the brew group, which turns the coffee machine off automatically, so I have access to the water outlet (nozzle) in the back behind the brew group. It has 2 orange caskets and is of a beige color. A small lever on the beige part can be pushed upwards carefully with a fingernail or small screw driver. This releases some steam and pressure so if something is stuck in that outlet it might get flushed out. One can also try to gently insert a tooth pick at the end of the nozzle to loosen stuff. I repeated this procedure a few times after the machine heated up again.

So far it worked and it brews normal coffee again.

Does not brew coffee consistencty, water does not always flow from res tank...even if water flows down from tank the machine will make the heat noise show brew ready and when u push the button it either...

I'm only getting 1/2 cup of coffee each time I brew. I've changed the filter. What should be my next step?

Their is no filter on the b40 so i dont know what you mean about that.

you model may have one or two brew size 10oz and 8 oz take a kitchen measure cup and check it

Sometimes it brews but most of the time it will not. It says ready but still will not brew. Help

Keurig b40 won't brew. took reservoir off, refilled, only makes a humming sound. this is the quietest the b40 has been since i purchased it. tried holding down the buttons, unplugging and taking reservoir...

Hi,

This is the time, you need to Descale the machine. The simple procedure is :-

Unfortunately, in spite of the best-laid plans of mice and men, espresso machines often get clogged by scale, deposits of minerals from hard water. Scale can cause serious damage if untreated. If your espresso machine's water flow has decreased a lot, it's probably because of scale. Fortunately, there is an easy and inexpensive way to descale your espresso machine.

  1. Obtain some citric acid. You can either order this online or find it in the kosher foods section of the supermarket (usually marketed as "sour salt"). Acid solutions dissolve scale, which is made of calcium carbonate. There are special solutions marketed specifically for descaling, but citric acid works just as well and is much cheaper.
  2. Prepare the descaling solution by mixing citric acid with water (I use two tablespoons of acid and a quart of water).
  3. Put the descaling solution in the water tank, turn on the machine, and run water through the steam wand until the cup is filled, to expose the parts to the solution. Turn off the machine, and leave it for 20 minutes so that the solution has time to dissolve scale.
  4. After 20 minutes, run more water
  5. Run solution through the machine every 20 minutes, until the water tank is empty.
  6. Fill the water tank with plain water, and run water through the machine until output water no longer tastes sour. This is important, because excess citric acid does not make coffee taste good.

Water pump?


If you could brewer coffee or get hot water out of the steam wand then it could be the one way valve on the bottom of the water tank. If you are running the pump output into a glass then it is probably scaled up in the boiler.

No coffee comes out from the coffe machine


The grind may be too fine. The Brew unit is plugged and needs service. The spout joining the boiler to the brew unit is broken. The unit may be plugged with scale.
