The power switch is not making a good solid contact with the charger. How do I open the laptop to look at the connection to see if I can fix it?

Hiya, does anyone know where i can get a charger for a R M z91fr laptop ??

If you can identify what the battery / laptop power requirements are, then you can buy replacement 'universal' laptop power supply / charger units which come with a selection of different standard connectors to plug the charger into the laptop.
Amazon sell a Sumvision Universal Laptop AC Charger Adapter which is available in different power output wattages (95V 120W). - you just need to select the correct DC output voltage by a switch selector and the correct connector for your laptop.

My HP Pavilion is not switching on, and I have opened it from the back. Please help to make the machine to switch on.

Hi, Try this it might work... connection your battery charger to the PC and make sure to plugin to a known working wall electrical outlet, check if the plug of the charger connector to laptop is not loose. Wait 5 minutes and turn on the laptop. If this did not turn on look for somebody that have multimeter to check if your charger is working or look for another hp laptop that have the same charger of yours connect it to see if the charge is working.. or you may use the other charger to your laptop. HP have a known problem for a motherboard failure with that particular model and see if you are cover with warranty. I hope this info might help you to solve your laptop problem... Have a Happy New Year... HRH

I do not have a charger for my laptop. Model: AGM20. We tried another universal charger, and still the laptop will not charge? It does not even switch on.

I have had lots of laptop's in for repair, this is the power connector on the motherboard - it becomes dislodged from the solder point's inside.

If you find a good computer store they will repair the connector (just needs a full stripdown and a blob of solder to make it connect) I charge £25 for this work, but some will advise you need a new motherboard and charge well over the odds for just a blob of solder.

Good luck with finding a good computer engineer (or someone that is good at soldering)

No, you can remove the battery, if the AC adapter is supplying power to the laptop.

Since _two_ AC adapters do not work, it's most-likely that the problem is your laptop.

Take the laptop to a qualified technician; they can try to disassemble the laptop, and fix the "bad" connector.

Advent laptop, been on holiday for a week, it has not been used in that time. It won't power up with the charger plugged in or not, the power lights are also off. Charger is broke but pc world techguys...

Well, if the chargers don't work that leaves a problem with the power connector on the motherboard. If the socket was or is loose it could be causing a short on the board. The cost of the motherboard will most likely rule out any thought of replacing that. If you have a working charger try removing the battery and with the power disconnected hold the power button down for 60 sec. Then plug the charger in and try to turn the PC on. I've seen this work before and it makes no sense that it does but you can try it. The only other problem I can think of that might cause this symptom if the lid cutoff switch is stuck in the down position and over riding the power switch.

Laptop intermittently works with battery

The adapter does not have a switch. When you plug in the adapter into the laptop a LED lights up to indicate that it is connected to the mains supply and is charging.
When you boot up the laptop with the adapter connected and check the power setting from the Control Panel and if it indicates it is on battery power, then either the adapter is faulty or the connector is not making proper electrical contact. Wriggle the connector plug to see if the charge light comes on, if it does then the loose connector needs repairing.
Replace the adapter if it is faulty.

I had this problem. I fixed it myself. The gold connector inside where you plug the charger in was not making contact so it would not charge the battery. I opened my gps and with a small screw driver i pushed the gold connector out so it would make contact with the charger. It works great now. I found this out after buying new car charger, home charger and battery and it still would not charge.
