Re: trouble with remote

Remote can be switched to control more than 1 recorder, on the remote press enter and1 simultaneously for 4-5 secs, this should switch remote to control dvd1.

See if there is some sort of reset button that will restore your unit to the condition it came as new. If you cannot locate, give Panasonic a call and they will advise.

U can also unplug from wall to see if it erases prior settings and resets.

Blu ray shows the "Blu ray Disc" Logo on TV screen and then just show a black creen

Hi! and welcome to Fixya!

It looks like your tv is unable to handle the output video resolution from your bluray. The reason why you do not have picture on the tv screen after the bluray disc logo appears.

You can follow the instruction below to set the video resolution on your player to its lowest resolution:

1. Using your bluray remote control, press the following buttons in order... STOP button (press and release) ....HOME button (press and release)....POP UP/MENU button ( press and release )
Note: press the buttons in order with 1 second interval. Make sure tv and bluray are ON when you try this. If first attempt nothing happens, try this again.

2. When the home menu screen appears after doing the above instruction, you can set the video resolution again manually. Follow the instruction:
Using the BD remote control press HOME button > then go to SETUP > select screen settings > then change OUTPUT VIDEO RESOLUTION to Auto > change also 24P OUT to 1080P // set the BD-ROM 24P OUTPUT to Auto

The next time you turn on the bluray player you will have picture again.

Let me know if this works!

Locked out of the menue ,Need to reset command mode

Indeed, I did the same thing.... I did find the answer in the manual!
Here's a copy of it (pg 23):

Set the command mode for the remote so it matches
the command mode for the recorder you set above.
1 Hold down ENTER
2 While holding down ENTER, enter the
command mode code number using the
number buttons.
Command Mode Code number
DVD1 number button 1
DVD2 number button 2
DVD3 number button 3
3 Hold down both the number buttons and
ENTER at the same time for more than 3
4 Let up, press RETURN, all done!

My remote suddenly stopped working.

If you're seeing on the LCD of the DVD player something like "DVD1" every time you press a button on the remote, try this: Change the command mode of the remote to match the player. Do that by holding down the Enter key on the remote and pressing the respective number. In my example above, hold Enter and press button 1 to set the command mode of the remote to DVD1. I had this problem and even unplugging the player didn't help, but the above worked for me.

Any button pushed on my remote control causes ''SET 1'' on display.

Hi, All you need to do is point the remote at your DVD player and hold both the number "1" and "enter" keys down for about 10 seconds. Evidently that re-sets the remote. It worked for me so good luck.

Remote control does not work at all.

The winner is....

SET 1 on the console; press and hold the ENTER button down and while holding Enter; press and hold "1" button for about ten seconds together. Your remote and console should be in sync again and try cutting off the dvd recorder with the remote and it should work.

Dvd recorder remote control

Anytime your unit displays RC1, 2, or 3 - the remote code needs to be reset. Other messages are "chk remote n" or "set n", n being the number 1, 2 or 3. These remote codes are set in case you have multiple products that interact w/ the remote - so when operating one device the other doesn't interfere. Unfortunately, every now and then for completely unknown reasons, they can slip out of the proper code. All you have to do (if your remote is, in fact, functional) is press and hold the number on the remote that corresponds with that which displays on the unit - in your case the number 3, and hold the Enter key at the same time for about 5 to 10 seconds. This should resume operation shortly thereafter. However, you will not see any confirmation on the display as you are performing this reset. It is trial and error.

Unable to change the DVD 1 Command Mode back to DVD 3 (DEFAULT) SETTING

Had the same problem when I changed the factory settings by mistake. There is no "cancel" button in the remote or the set. What worked for me was to follow the directions on P. 22 of the manual and change the remote settings to DVD 1. This is done by holding the "Enter" button and pressing number 1 on the keypad simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. Then, you go back to the "Settings" screen with the "Settings" button, change the control back to DVD 3, and reverse the setting in the remote by pressing "Enter" and the number 3 this time. Remember to hold them down more than 5 seconds. Good luck!
