Battery problems, then audio problems

Hi, I have a powershot A520 camera and have used it for short videos now for over one year.

The batteies first started to last less and less time so we replaced them with new fully charged rechargeable batteries. Yet they only lasted for one day. I put other new ones in and they also only lasted for one day.

Today when I replaced the batteries, I got a high pitched static sound on my video audio which was very annoying. I had never had that before. So I replaced the batteries a third time within one day but the static high pitch is still there.

I don't know if these two problems are related but is my camera breaking down? If not, what could be going on?

The time and date setting of my canon powershot a520 always pops up in the window of the camera eventhough i set it. It usually shows when I on the camera,shot a picture and playback the picture.

(The short answer is that you need to change the date battery, which you'll find under the terminal cover; it's a CR1220.)

You have to connect your camera to PC first of all and if it is not connecting to pc via cable then use the cardreader to fix the problem

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Use a memory card and memory card reader. If the images come out black you have a bad CCD in your camera.

Seeking Canon Powershot A520 Battery Door.

You can probably pick up a "broken" A520 on Ebay for $20 or less and use the parts from it. There are always some listed, but there are a few bidders who are in business picking up these cameras and "fixing" them to sell again. Good luck.

Replacement parts for canon powershot a520????

I have a "broken" A520 that needs a new LCD. I really don't want to spend another $90 to get it fixed so may be willing to sell it for parts. Let me know. I don't know about any guide for disassembly however.
