What you are describing is the power supply failing because of bad capacitors.

Sorry, I never thanked you for your help. I tried replacing a few and then the whole board but it's still doing it but now getting worse. I re-posted all the issues that I could think of hoping someone may give me a clue lol or it is just time for a new set?

I replaced the power supply board to make sure I got all the caps, even if they looked ok. after turning on and off, going though screen freeze, plaid non moving colors and some times slow power up withdelayed pic and sound, the a great picture? ?

  • Brad Brown Dec 30, 2013

There is a fix for the screen plaid issue that you are talking about. IT is chip that you have to order. I am not convinced though that the inverter is ok

  • brianwmcdona Dec 30, 2013

Is the chip that you are talking about the DLP chip? if so I replaced that already to get rid the white dots.

  • brianwmcdona Dec 30, 2013

I may look into the inverter because it sounds like caps same symptoms, that's why I replaced the whole power supply board, maybe even a ballast issue. Something that when it gets warm it works but now from a cold start. Thanks again for your help

SOURCE: Numerous white spots on Smasung DLP TV

If your Mitsubishi TV has white spots in the picture , you can call Mitsubishi @ 1-800-332-2119 and request a free DLP Chip to fix the problem. They will send the New DLP Chip at no charge to a TV Tech in your area to install it for $200 flat rate. That is about a $250 savings if you had to pay for the chip . Call them with your TV's Model number and serial number and let them know when and where you bought the TV.
It saved me some hard earned money and now my TV is like New !

Tv picture shift leaving one inch of white vertical stripe on left side. Any suggestions as to repairing?

there is not really a "fix" for that besides buying and installing a new lcd panel. you have bad pixels. unless someone took the tv apart before this happend. then its probably a plug not inserted in all the way for the lcd

Setting my Samsung ST76 to 1MB photos

I do not complete understand what you want. My fuss is, you want every picture to be about 1 MB on your memory card. I do strongly advice against this, but you own the camera and so it be. You always can make pictures with a smaller resolution from high quality pictures, but never the other way around. You better shoot highest quality on your camera and later wham the pictures are on your computer down size the ones that are less important to 1 MB.
But you can choose 5 mega pixels with normal compression or 3 mega pixels with fine compression or 2 mega pixels with super fine compression. All these pictures will look fine in an e-mail, or on the net. Even a 6 by 4 inch picture will look fine. Memory cards will cost like 1 dollar pro Gbyte, so my advice is buy a few 8 or 16 Gb cards and shoot in high def.

Three-year old 47" Samsung LCD. At first, some pixelation, usually correctable by turning TV off then on again. This situation lasted months, getting slightly more frequent each week. More recently, the TV...

1. the motherboard might be bad and you will need to replace it. 2. or The power supply is bad
Chances are if its making clicks the power supply is bad and you will need to replace it. Which makes sense because constantly powering the tv on and off will damage the power supply or possibly short out your motherboard. These things usually cost about 200 bucks to fix at a local tv repair store.

Signs that the bulb in a dlp is going out

A DLP Lamp will fail in two ways. 1.The glass tube housing the filament will shatter and the TV will not turn on. 2. The lamp has many hours of use on it and will gradually grow dimmer. At no time will the lamp cause any picture defect. Check your Cable or Sat box for the correct aspect ratio as well as the TV aspect ratio. Chances are the aspect ratio in either system is set incorrectly. If the gray borders are uniform then the aspect ratio is not set properly. If this occurs on certain channels but not others then the particular channel is broadcasting in the 4:3 aspect ratio and there is nothing wrong with your set.

Samsung hl-s6186 screen flickers and sometimes goes green

The humming will usally come from the color wheel(one of the only moving parts), which is part of the light engine. If the tv is starting to get a green picture that is a sign that the light engine is on it's way out.

CANON POWERSHOT S2 IS 5 MEGA PIXELS

I bought mine 2 1/2 yrs ago too. Found this solution on this site and tried it. It worked perfectly.
Turn to TV mode, set the exposure to 15 seconds by pushing the little "arrow dial" until you have 15"
Push the button to take the picture.
Wait 7 seconds from when you push the button, then turn over and open the battery door while it is "taking the picture."
Close the battery door and turn back on.
I did this three times and the last time, it worked and the iris became unstuck.
Then I took a million pictures to get the iris moving.
Good luck!

Samsung HD tv help

Is it a Plasma Television? I recently had a customer have the same issue with a 2 year old model Samsung 50" plasma TV. In his case one Of the computer panels failed. He didn't have a service plan and the warrenty was out, so i directed him to Samsungs help line. They inturn directed him to a authorized repair center. Repairs were roughly $800. Thats a possibility but it may not be the same as your issue. Try leaving your TV running for a little while when it has the issue, and see if it eventually goes away. Some older plasma models have started to require a warm up time for the pixel cells. This has been a down fall of plasma that for the most part no longer exists on newer models.
I hope eveything works out.

Have a great day

Blue snowy pixel areas on my plasma

some of these panels were mis-calibrated from the factory after not aging long enough. Let the TV run for atleast 2 hours and adjust the Vs and Vscan voltages. When it is blue in the left I have found generally the Vs is about 10 volts too high.
