The problem was started with the door lock, as it closed and the LED of door lock was on and pressed "Start", but after 2 to 3 min, the door-lock-LED went off by itself and the washer was NOT working. And then read and got the error code: EbE. Based on the Error code chart, EbE is a console control problem and the control board should be replaced. The Affinity atf6700fs1 is about 5 year old. My questions: 1. Can I reset the error code? (I tried the steps for clearing latest stored error code, but it was not working) 2. Is the the control board real root cause for EbE? 3. What is the part number for this control board for Affinity atf6700fs1 ? Thank You!

Yes, the original issue was the control from the beginning. the control is damaged and it cannot register the latch at this point. this is necessary and , it will fix the issue.
Hello - This particular issue can be caused by quite a few reasons. Washer could be experiencing a communication error from the main control board, faulty door lock assembly or the timer itself is not operating correctly. Did you notice a humming noise? If so, either the drainage hose/pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned or could possibly have another issue with the door lock assembly or pressure switch. You can also press and hold the start/pause and cancel button together at the same time for approximately 30 seconds to display an error code on the LED. What error code does it display? However, I would suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose the washer.
Hello chuckthom980 - Typically EBE indicates that there is an issue with the console control. Contact a professional to have the main control board replace.
Hello zabbster - Typically the DR or DO error code indicates that the door switch is not closed. Make sure that the door lock is completely closed. If the door is closed, make sure the door latch is not broken. If the latch is broken, you may possibly need to replace the door lock switch.
Hello
& Welcome to FixYa
E41
error indicates that the problem is with door lock assembly, it is displayed
when the control board thinks that the door switch is open. To solve this
problem you have to remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of
the PTC. If it reads open then the door lock assembly needs replacement
however, if the reading is around 1500 ohms then replacing the control board is
recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
