5 flashes then a pause then repeat....I took the cover off and can turn the horizontal (worm gear?) by hand and it engages the gear with the vertical shaft and it will raise and lower the door. i have also released the lever and the door raises and lowers by hand with ease..thanks

if i turn the gears by hand and lower the door that way (say a foot or two) then push the wall controller the door will raise and the motor drive stops as normal...but push the wall controller again and it clicks and nothing

I've turned the up limit (down) so the door does not clear the 7' opening to no avail.

The green button is not a reset. It is used to program the remotes. Watch the LED for a bit and see if it is sending a code. Any number of flashes followed by a pause and then repeating. You also need to remove the cover and look at the white nylon drive gear just in front of the motor. It may be stripped.

Turn the gears again by hand like you did and lower the door a couple feet. Now find the 'up limit' on the side of the motor unit and using a small screwdriver turn this about 3 turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Now you can go ahead and operate the door.

You may have a bad RPM sensor board which is the small printed circuit board just in front of the motor. This will cause the door to stop on the way up and to reverse to the open position when it is going down.

I have the door bell style wall button-how do I unlock the unit so the remotes can be synched? I have pressed green button on back of unit with remotes but they won't operate the door.

You don't unlock anything to program the opener for the remotes. If everything is working you do this:

Press and hold the button down on the remote while you press and immediately release the smart/learn button. Do this for each remote.

The green light on the motor unit is an LED and random flickering is normal. Your problem is most likely caused by an electrical storm or power surge. You will need to remove the logic board from the motor unit and check for burnt or missing traces on the printed circuit board especially around the small transformer. Your holding that button in will most likely have erased the memory of the unit and all your remotes will need to be programmed once you find your problem. I really suggest you call an technician at this point.

If the main light flashes 10 times when you try to close the door it is a sensor problem. Make sure they are not flickering ever so slightly and that they are not loose on their brackets. Tweak them a little bit.

Remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. It may be going bad.

Hunter remote 85752 does not work

You probably need to re-sync the remote to the fan. To do this, turn the power off to the fan; and within ten seconds, hit the "3" button, then the "2", and then hold the 1 button until you hear a click. This should fix it. Good luck!

No response to remote on Liftmaster 1/3 HP model # 1245R

It has probablly lost sync.

Follow the procedure to reload the codes. One usually has to hit a reset button on the head and then follow a sequence to sync your remote to the head.

I have a 1995 Sear garage door opener that stopped working

The trolley (the part that moves back and forth and is connected to your door) of your opener is most likely jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. You can remove the bolt or loosen the chain until your unit will run. Once the door is closed find the 'up limit' on the side of the motor unit and turn it about 3 turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Now replace the bolt or tighten the chain. Whichever you first did.

Craftsman Garage Opener Clicks only and LED blinking 5 times

Just fixed this problem tonight. Had the 5 blink/flash thing. Opened it up and saw that the motor wasn't spinning so it wasn't a bad rpm sensor. Jumped the red to black and then the blue to black to verify motor worked. At that point assumed it was the logic board not telling the motor to start, but I could hear the click of the relay. Pulled the logic board out and noticed a solder joint that had failed directly behind one of the relays. Resoldered that joint and the garage door opener worked again like a dream. Hope that helps someone else.
