Question about Kodak EasyShare DX4330 Digital Camera

Camera will not stay booted up

I have never had problems of any kind with my kodak DX4330. I bought a new rechargeable battery two months ago. It charges. I have the camera charging sitting on the camera dock.

The problem is when I remove the camera to take a picture .... it boots up. The lens extends and then the red light flashes and it retracts. I am not able to take any pictures.

However, if I leave the camera sitting on the dock, lift the entire dock and camera .... turn it on auto .... the lens extends .... it stays extended and I have no problem taking pictures.

Basically camera works normal only if I leave it sitting on the dock.

Camera is fully charged at all times. It is a weird problem and I hope someone can help me solve it.

Thank you all so much!

    Dear Shuttle561,

Thank you for the response and solution. My old battery was the Ni-MH Min 2000mAH - Typ 2100 mAH. I had no problems with this battery. I bought the exact same battery from best buy. The exact same mAH and this gives me the problem.

When this problem started, I replaced the new battery with the old one .... and I encounter the exact same problem. Could it be something deeper than the mAH?

It seems that the Milli Amps on your rechargeable batteries are to low you will notice on each battery it will show the amplitude purchase a higher amplitude.

I had the same problem with mine when I first got it, having put cheap batteries in. I replaced them with the new energiser lithium batteries and it worked fine.

Hello. I'm not sure if your start up problem is related but even though AA batteries fit this camera it actually needs the Kodak Klick-8000 rechargeable battery. I recently bought a new aftermarket battery and charger on Ebay for about $10.00 US from China. It solved my battery problem.

Batteries will not recharge on Kodak EasyShareDX4330 Camera dock seems to be working fine otherwise.

if your are using the ordinary AA rechargeable battery it will not charge., Camera dock will charge only on a 2 Pack AA battery like KAA2HR batteries or the 2 AA battery that attached together (Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack )

What type of battery are using?

try to purchased KAA2HR

Camera dock does'nt work

If the light indicating the charging status is off, remove the batteries from the camera and make sure that you are using the Kodak Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery Pack KAA2HR. THis is the only battery that will charge on the dock. If you are using the correct battery and it still does work, better to get a rapid charger instead.

Kodak Easyshare DX4330: camera won't complete formatting mem card

sometimes it does.
if your old card is working and the new card isn't chances are they are not compatible.

just like what they would say... we know that manufacturers would say.. it should work, if it doesn't try another one.

if both cards are not working them there is something wrong with the camera.

Kodak Z712IS-batteries die so quickly

you can't really get around the fact that digital cameras create a heavy strain on batteries. rechargables are the only way to go with them. now about the chinese battery. the voltage may be fine but that is not under load (being in the camera during operation) so it's deceptive about the voltage.

Kodak DX4330 shuts down

Unscrew some of the screws (the ones you can manage to remove), press on the little connector on the bottom, put some batteries in and try it. When I put the batteries in, it worked for me, and so I screwed it back up, and it's continued working pretty much. I think something might have gotten loose on these cameras. I thought mine was through, but it seems to work now!
