If you've switched the set OFF with its remote control, you should have that remote control to switch it ON back. Then only, you can synschronze it with a universal remote control

SOURCE: Code for Magnavox Univ remote

Try one of these codes:
018, 021, 023, 071, 085, 090

If those don't work, respond with the model for the remote and we'll try some others. Also, if remote requires 4 digit codes, just put a 0 in front of each of the above.

SOURCE: I have a toshiba universal

Hi,

According to Toshiba, the CT-90121 isn't a universal remote control. This remote only works with TOSHIBA TVs with the following model numbers:

32AFX62, 32AFX63, 32HFX72, 34HDX82, 36AFX62, 36AFX63, 36FX72, 36HFX72, 42HDX52, 42HDX82, 50HX70, 57HDX82, 57HL83, 57HLX82, 65HDX82, 65HLX83

Unless you posted the wrong remote model number (?) your Toshiba remote isn't going to work with your RCA TV.

Please rate this solution if you find it helpful. Thanks!

SOURCE: manual toshiba 26dv 713b television

Hello!
Try to explore "retrievo.com". I got a few owners manuals there. It might be even free, or with little strings attached, i.e: register or like them on facebook.
If you will have a problem with that, let me know. I will help you.
do you have an issue with your set or just want to have manual handy?
Good luck,
Alex.

My Serial number is 94590994 and I cant tell what universal remote I need. TV is Stuck on channel 2

Do yourself a favor and save time, money and aggravation and locate an original remote, universals if they will program will be missing key features the original had.

If you insist on a Universal, use your computer and Google with the model number search for remote. that should give you a few hundred different remotes that might work.

I LOST MY REMOTE AND I NEED CLOSED CAPTIONING BECAUSE I AM HEARING IMPAIRED. WHERE CAN I GET A REMOTE?

Check the make and model of your TV ... You should be able to order a new remote through the manufacturer (try going through the online customer service from that company and they should be able to help). It might also be cheaper to go to an electronic's store and buy a universal remote. If you are going to go for the universal remote, make sure to ask someone at the store for help finding a remote that you can set WITHOUT the old remote.
There are some universal remotes that you have to program using the old remote -- it senses which frequencies the remote uses, and mimics them. If you have lost the old remote, then buying one of this type of remote will not do you any good ... so please make sure that you know what you are getting before you pay for it :-)
There are other universal remotes that have a list of pre-programmed frequencies, and you just have to search through the list to find the right one. This usually means that you will have to sit in front of the TV for a while hitting the power button. As the remote tries to set it's program, it starts at the top of a list of frequencies used by TV manufacturers, and each time you hit the power button, the remote sends a "turn on/off" signal in the frequency range that it is on, and then switches to the next frequency. As you hit the power button, the remote scrolls through the list of options, until it actually turns your TV off or on and you stop hitting the button. Then the remote holds the frequency range in it's programming, and should work just like your old one.

Universal remote works for basics but won't change input

Rich,

good day , what button can you see infront of your TV screen?

Not familiar with this model but if you'll manage to locate a button marked as "TV/AV" or "AV" press this button until it the display switch to A/V mode (audio/video). Or if this is a really old model, from Tuner mode or channel model. set the channel station to 1 then press the " - channel " button and see if it will change from tuner mode to A/V mode

cheers,

MY DVD REMOTE CONTROL CODES

Its likely that the new new remote control has specific codes for the components it can operate. You should look to the remote manual or online source to find the code(s) for the DVD player you have. Without knowing the remote you purchased, its hard to locate codes for you.
