Question about Dell Computers & Internet

Hi, Ive got a inspiron 530s (slimline) that won't boot, front LED stays solid abmer and fans turn over once but no boot. Changed PSU and reseated all components, neither helped. Think its the motherboard or processor now, want to replace motherboard first cos its cheaper but cant find a suitable one anywhere. I think its a 0RY007 but cant be certain. Can you help?

Yes. It is 0RY007. Check the following links.

You should call Dell and ask them for a new one though. They would send you the correct part.

When i turn on my Dell Inspiron 2400 Desktop Computer why won`t it start.

Is the computer plugged in to a known good power source with a known good power cord? Also, make sure the power is fully seated on both ends. When you press the power button are you getting any indicator lights? The power button itself has an LED that will be either solid green, blinking green, solid amber, blinking amber, or off. Do you hear any beeps?

If there is noise "beep" then it has RAM issue/RAM port. If is not noising then it has motherboard issue. I guess you need to take it to the technician and ask him to fix or replace it.

Pavilion s3620f has no video and won't boot

There could be many reasons for this. Open the case and make sure the components are plugged in tightly. Make sure the CPU Fan is spinning and is dust free.Reseat the RAM modules, make sure to clean the RAM slots before reseating the modules. If all this fails to give results, but a new power supply and try that, you do not have to install the power supply but can keep it outside and test it. If the MB is gone, then, look to see if she still has warranty, if not ebay may be a cheap answer for the same MB.

My pc will not stay powered on

OverheatingWhen the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

I tried to turn my inspiron 530s on and a solid Amber light come on. I tried to search for an answer but i havent found it. I opened the pc side cover to see if evething were connected and all of the wires...

It needs a new power supply unit (PSU). And, it absolutely won't run without that 4 pin connector. Any standard ATX PSU of at least 250 watts will do. But, Dell usually uses a backward configured power supply so you'll have to purchase theirs. If you have a Dremel with a cut-off wheel, or other means of modifying the case, you can use a standard PSU. If it needs the cut-out, you'll see what I mean when you get the new one in hand.

Inspiron 530S Power Save Mode Loop

First you need to make sure that there are no other removable devices plug on the system, like usb, external hard drives, then if that will work try to go to the bios, press f2 when you see the dell logo, and go to the system setup, go to the boot device configuration and make sure that removable device is not the first boot device, if it is the first one choose hard disk and then second boot device ad cd rom/dvd rom and then disable the 3rd boot and the fourth boot device. Make sure to save the changes. And restart the system again. Once the computer is back and running try to go to and check the bios, download if there is a bios update for the system.
