Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Hello, I put a DVD with a lot of JPG.files on it in my Magnavox MRV810h. After that the machine started READING and never stopped. In no way I can get the DVD out of the player/recorder. The program crashes and will not react to any input any more. Is there a solution for this? Is it possible to open the DVD-player to get the DVD out? Thanks for any help. Huub Esten from the Netherlands.

Thank you for your advise. I already did this a couple of times. I think it has something to do with the software. After restarting I can watch recorded movies. When I try to program something from TV everything works fine until I have to close the recorder down. It will not close down but crashes. I have tried several ways to open the DVD-drive, but no success. I even opened the recorder, but the DVD-drive is of the enclosed type. The solution would be to remove the DVD, but I do not know how. There is no alternative route to address the eject function.

Well, for an expert you gave me a lot to work with. For these tips I could have asked the guy who delivers the morning paper. Little disappointed.

If this was your best shot, you will never see me on FixYa again.

    All the best from Holland.

Recorded pictures onto a DVD on my computer, they won't play on the ZV420mw8

I looked up your DVD player's model number online. It is not equiped to read picture files (.jpg, .bmp, etc.) You have to be carefull when you transfer pictures to a DVD on your computer. If you just burn them to the disc, most DVD players wont be able to read the information. Frequently you have to use a program like Microsoft Movie Maker to get them in the right format.

You may have to start over and use a DVD making program to make them a video and not just picture files.

Hope this helps! Don't forget to rate!

Laser will click loudly when diode is burnt out. Invest in a new machine. Cost of repair would prob be more than new machine. Good Luck.

I am trying to record from my dvr to my magnavox 10d6 recorder

Connect the yellow/red/white out from the VCR to the same inputs on the 2160. Press setup. select general. select video select video input. select L1 or L2. press ok. select video or s-video.
press setup to exit.
select HDD or DVD (whichever you want to record to)
use source or channel to select L1 or L2
press rec mode to select sp/lp/ep/etc
press record to start recording
start playback on the input device
press stop to stop recording.
The manual is available as a PDF file on the web. It would save a lot of typing...

It's probably the magnets on the neck of each CRT that moved since you removed them or the CRTs weren't put back in the exact orientation . Use a white paint pen to mark each one as they are now. If there's a clamp or two metal rings that locks them in place you can try rotating them as a group (their location up and down the neck is also critical).  If not you will have to adjust them individually and then do a complete convergence adjustment. That's a big task. Good luck.
