The cable has been cut off of my acer monitor (v771-m) I took the back off the monitor and want to fit another cable from a different make, can someone tell me which colour wires go to which pin on the plug or can some one send me a wiring diagram for that cable.  Thanks Carl

Have you already removed the wire from the back of the monitor or have you already replaced the wire and now want to reconnect the 15 pin D-type plug?

If its just the D-type you want to reconnect then have a look here:

http://www.monitorworld.com/faq_pages/q17_page.html

Its not the easiest diagram to follow but all you need to remember is that some wires are used and some are not.

If you dont have a particular colour of wire then it probably isnt used.

I hope that helps...

Cheers

Mike

ACER P223W Monitor Ghosting (Multi-Mon Setup Win8)

Hummmm.... are both monitors connected to the same surge protector?

I had a similar problem with 2 monitors and a Brother Laser Printer (with a long USB cable), where the Brother was connected to a different AC outlet connecting to a different breaker! No fair...

That happened because that 'Brother' outlet was part of a new room addition... and hence a 'new/different' circuit breaker.

Once I connected the Brother to the same surge protector my video problems went away. And yes, the "grounds" are connected properly at both outlets... go figure.

Acer AL2216W 22" LCD monitor. DVI input apparently

Not Good..
After you've checked that the video cable is connected properly, make sure that all the pins in the video cable plugs are straight and not broken off. Then test on another PC. Make sure your CMOS battery has not gone flat, as some PC's will fail to load basic drivers if CMOS memory is lost. The battery should show no less than 2.5v, if it's marked 3 volts when tested on a multimeter. If you can't test it, just buy a new one at the supermarket or hardware, usually around $4.00.
Next thing to try is your Video Card . If it is an on board one like most are now, there isn't anything you can do but try another card in an expansion slot or fit a new motherboard. At this point, I'm sad to say, you're better taking it to a PC shop where they will have a few things at their disposal to try.

they all come with two cables. blue being vga, white being dvi cable. you only need to plug the blue into both ends (computer and into the monitor) and turn on. If it is still not working how many video cards are there on the computer? Do you have it plugged into the right spot and is it tight on both ends?

My Acer Monitor P243WA dusplays ACER then NO SIGNAL then blank

You haven't mentioned if this is a new monitor or not so there can be a few causes. First thing is to simply check the video cables from the back of the computer to the monitor. If you moved or bumped or done nothing at all you can have a bad connection. Simply remove the cable connection from the back of the monitor and reattach and then do the same on the computer end. That usually results in the head smack fix. If it doesn't then try the monitor on a different computer. It is possible its your video card but I've seen the cables be the culprit most of the time.

Acer 1717

Hi,

"noisy vertical bars in the video" is indicative of 60 Hz AC component riding in with the video signal. Pls check that all connectors are snug and fit to where they are connected. It would do no harm to try to remove and reinstall/reconnect all cables. Additionally, try plugging in the monitor into a different socket/AC mains. Further, you may want to try and check your cable for any stray shielding or anything out of the ordinary.

Other than the above, could not suggest more easy user action. The alternatives are to try a different monitor to determine if it is the computer video card or the Acer 1717 that is in question; or try the Acer 1717 in another PC. It should be mentioned that some household appliances can also cause AC interference such as florescent lamps, wireless phones or even an electric clock.

Of course you can also try increasing your PC's Screen refresh Rate to anything other than 60Hz.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Acer AL2002W Monitor

For DVI you need to probably upgrade your cheap graphics card, something not that expensive would be a ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro, it'll do. May want to check what pwer supply maybe required on your PC.
