T.V. Clicking for 10 minutes before it turns on

Hi we have a Samsung 52in TV (model No: LE52M87BD),Whenever we press the on button at the front of the tv, the tv clicks for about 10 minutes and the red light flashes before the TV finally turns on, this also happens when we turn the tv on from the remote control. It has 2 scart lead outlets at the back and we have moved them around a fair bit between using the DVD & Wii as well as having Sky permanently plugged in. We recently bought a Scart lead box so all the scart leads can stay in all the time. Could this have caused the problem with the delay of the tv coming on? The TV is only 17 months old. Please help. Many Thanks.

Scart leads or scart adapter would never cause such problems. The problem will be in the TV itself. You need to check the power-supply unit at the main-boar. First look for visible cracks at the other side of the board, then you might need to check all the low voltage capacitors at the power unit. In most cases 100 Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} µFx16V located just next to IC causes such a problem. Only one TV out of 430 had actually defective IC itself, and TV was stil working after 6.26mins. So in your case I'd check low voltage part of the power unit.

Hi. I have exactly the same problem with my Samsung LE52M87BD; it takes about 5 minutes to power on, during which time a relay is clicking on and off, and the red standby LED is blinking in time with the relay clicks. I've removed the Power board and replaced the 2 large 180uF 450V capacitors, but the problem remains. Unfortunately there are no less than 23 low voltage electrolytic capacitors on this board, so I'm hoping you can give me a clue as to which ones I should check out. I'd rather not replace all 23 if I don't have to! There are 3 ICs on my board; ICP801 is located right next to the clicking relay and has 3 caps in its vicinity (0.22uF, 0.47uF and 47uF all at 50V), then there's ICI803 which has a 47uF 50V nearby, and finally there's ICM801 with a 47uF and a 1uF 50V nearby. Thanks, Mike.

Hi,
Not sure why chat got closed/ disconnected.
There is big transistor TL010 attached with heat sink near flyback transformer, this is horizontal output transistor, check it and replace if found shorted.
Thanks.

MY LCD TV MAKES A CLICKING NOISE, THEN SHUTS OFF ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT'S TURNED ON.

The clicking is from the power board relay. It has detected a fault and shuts off. It may be a problem with the power board or one of the other boards is loading it down. Better to have a tech look at it.

Clicking sounds and delay when turning on lcd tv LE52M86BD

Hi

A common fault with this model is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your tv and look at the power supply for bulged / swollon capacitors on top, they may even leak a brown like substance and should have a value of around 1000uf 10v
Change these where possible with the same uf but higher voltage lets say 1000uf 25/35v
Hope this helps

My samsung lcd tv is clicking and wont turn on

Its a common problem with many Samsung LCD TVs. We had the same problem on our Samsung TV. Based on some info on the net we called Samsung Support department ( 1-800-SAMSUNG). After describing the problem and mentioning that I have read on the net that its a common problem, representative asked for the model number and serial number of the TV ( I read them to her from a sticker on the side of TV). The Samsung Rep acknowledged that it was a common problem for my model and few other LCD models and they were fixing the problem without any charge to customer eve though TVwas out of warranty. She took the required info and gave me the ticket/transaction number and forwarded it to a local technician. Technician called next day and setup the appointment with us. Technician came within the 4 hr window that he had promised and changed the faulty capacitor on the power board and was done within 10 mins. Samsung rep had indicated that the technician will determine if the issue was with capacitor or not. If the issue was something else then tecnician will charge the regular service charge to fix the issue.

Samsung tv model no LE40R74BDXIXEU TV IS USUALLY

First the main bd controls the "Turn on" sequences". When you press the Power on button the Main bd sends a "Turn on" signal to the Power supply. The clicking you hear is the Power on relay ativating. If the tv does not turn on and the relay keeps clicking then you might have a bad Main bd or there is s shorted board somewhere else in the set. The Power supply can also be bad. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot the set.

Since your tv is a new model it will be IN Warranty. Call 1-800-Samsung and they will set up a service call and send your ticket to a Qualified ASC in your area. Ask if they can send a Samsung Field Engineer to repair your tv. They are nmch more highly trained and you will have a better repair experience.
