Question about Heating & Cooling
My inverter is not going into heat mode, the vents open and a very slight breeze of cold air comes out.
Hi there , ok depending on the brand and model please make sure that the control is in heat mode,
secondly that the remote has fresh batteries,(if it is remote ) once you have established this try the following.
1. turn the system on in full cool first .
If it is cooling , wet the back of your hand and place it near the fan out let , you should be able to feel the coolness enough that it feels like its biting your hand , if this happens good , it means that the refrigerant charge is good and its not a gas problem , if it feels kind of weak then refrigerant is the problem and you will need a qualified person to test the system,
ok if it was good then switch is over to full heat , remember to wait about five minutes because most of these systems are fitted with a timer to protect the compressor from sudden off/on switching so be patient ok once it starts and fan is running feel the air comming out , also go outside and see if the fan is running or not and if you can hear like a motor running or not as well this will indicate if the compressor is working , now in the heating mode you should be able to feel the air comming out of the out door unit from the fan it should be cold, if it is hot and you have the system in heating mode then the reversing valve or solenoid is the problem and you will require a technician to repair this because of the nature of this problem, some times these system have problems in heating especially if it is running on freon 22 as this gas will not operate below 5 deg C. if it running on freon 410a then it can run as low as -5 deg C
Something else to consider is the out side temperature is it too cold ?
see how go , i hope this information helps you , remember if the control is remote and the batteries are even half flat it will send a garbled message to the system and it won't know what to do so make sure to change the batteries.
Thank you and have a lovely day :)
