Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

WE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL PINK LACE FRIGIDAIRE THAT I LOVE. IT HAS ALL THE ACCESSORIES. IT IS LIGHT BLUE INSIDE. IT STOPPED WORKING A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. IT RUNS, BUT DOESN'T KEEP COLD. WHO COULD I CALL TO FIX IT. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL. ALSO, I WAS WONDERING IF YOU WOULD HAVE A MANUAL FOR IT. THAT IS THE ONLY THING WE DON'T HAVE. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.

I APPRECIATE YOUR FAST RESPONSE. WE WILL TRY ALL THE GOOD ADVICE YOU GAVE US. WE HAVE A NEW FRIDGE, BUT I LOVE THIS ONE TO HAVE AS A SECOND ONE. IT IS REALLY NICE. VERY FANCY AND WAY AHEAD OF IT'S TIME (ANYWAY, I THINK SO). IT IS EVEN "FROST FREE". IT WOULD BE SO CUTE IN A 50'S TV SHOW!

I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT WE FIND OUT. THANKS, ROADRUNNER!

We have not had a chance to try yet, but I am sure we will find out something with all the good info we were given by RR1. Thanks!

Hope you can track down a wiring diagram and would absolutely love to have a manual. Thanks for all your effort!

Hi there , i will check for a manual for you as soon as i can , one thing you must do before you call a tech out . try this out first . Plug the fridge in with the back facing you so you can see and hear it, make sure you have a good torch on hand and something soft for your knees because you will need to get to the bottom of the fridge when you check it, ok turn it on and listen to it , if you can hear the compressor running (black rounded object with pipes coming out of it ) thats a good thing wait approximately 15 minutes and then lightly feel the smallest pipe coming out , it should be getting warmer , the longer it on the hotter this pipe gets but if it gets really hot then it could be the fan underneath the fridge which cools the little coil down , this fan should be running when ever the compressor is running, if its not running and the compressor is not running either then the system maybe in a defrost cutout point in which case you will need to either locate the defrost timer and turn the knob clockwise until it turns the compressor on or if the pipes don't get hot and only stay lightly warm, the system may have lost its gas charge in which case a tech will need to carry out this type of problem due to equipment required for this type of work, Also if the fridge was left off for a long time it may have a seized compressor in which case depending on what part of the world your in a new fridge would be the best option because repairs could cost up to $600 bucks , A defrost timer should be purchasable from your local refrigeration supplier if your not sure give me a model and year and i'll hunt down a wiring diagram for you . I hope this information helps :)
Thank you and have a nice day :)

I have a xerox Flat Panel LCD Monitor 19" i purchased at office depot in 11/05, manufactured by Proview Technology, Inc. Model# 900P. I love this monitor, about 1 year ago I moved and it went into...

Depends where it was in storage. It may have got damp.
I would try leave it inside in the warm and try again.
If no luck it would probably be cheaper to get a new one than getting it repaired. A 19 monitor start at about £70

Freezer light, ice maker, and ice/water dispenser stopped working

did you replace the light . or just tighten it . and is ice cream soft . it sounds like the tempt is above 15 deg . and needs to be colder . this may be a control problem . but ck the little things first . clean the coils / make sure inside fan and under neath fan are going . re ck control settings . .. if problem does't go away . then look at control ..

Radio works just have no digital read out on 1999 explorer. Is it fused related?

Hello! Yes It could be fuse related. You have lost power on the Blue/Red lead, which is illumination to the radio.

If you have a multimeter you can look for +12volts on this wire with the key on. If it is not present; Check fuse #27 15amp inside drivers side fuse box.

In case you ever need the entire wiring; Here it is...

Green/Yellow memory +12volts with key off

Yellow/Black ignition +12volts with key on

Red Ground

Blue/Red +12volts with key on
