My Gateway Solo 9500
Hi,
I just received a Gateway Solo 9500 that I bought on Ebay. I plugged in the Adapter and powered on the laptop and the Screen remained black although the laptop was functioning. Upon looking closer, I realized that I could just BARELY make out something on the screen. Is the LCD broken and is there something I can do to fix it without paying hundreds of dollars?

The LCD is fine as you can see the display.
This is a backlight fault.
This may have been caused by dropping (breaking the backlight tubes) or the inverter circuit has become faulty.
This should not cost hundreds to repair.
I think you should talk to the seller with a view to getting your money back first though.
