Thank you once again for the prompt reply. I can't read the manual as it is in chinese :(.

I do know that the notebook has at present two 500mb sticks of memory so I am assuming that it will take two 1gb sticks??? Am I correct?

    Thank you

Yes, you can increase the RAM of your Asus X53L, but first, please review/check the product manual of your laptop on what type & maximum capacity of RAM will its motherboard can support & compatible. Any Brand of RAM will do as long as your laptop motherboard is compatible wih & can support its capacity, this is being made to ensure best operations performance of PC. regards

Yes, your're correct but again It depends on the support capacity of your motherboard, if it can support 2GB (2 x 1GB) or 1.5GB (1GB + 500MB), as exceeding the motherboard required capacity might result to impaired operational functions which may lead to another problem. Also, please note that it's best to install memory modules in pair with same size capacity (example: 2 x 500MB; 2 x 1GB; 2 x 2GB) for best optimum memory module performance, because if the two RAM modules have different size capacity - it might result to conflicting processes as the RAM with lower size capacity will try to get strength from the other RAM with higher size capacity in order to get even in their processing functions. best regards

Hmmm, something does not appear correct. The Crucial memory selector indicates that the Versa Premium will hold 2 256 MB DIMM for a total of 512 MB.

Samsung n150 plus is expandable to how many memory?

The Samsung N150 Laptop comes installed with 1GB of Memory and can be upgraded to a maximum of 2GB Memory. This computer has 1 (one) SO-DIMM memory slot, so to upgrade to 2GB of RAM, you will need to replace the installed RAM module with a single 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2-667 200pin SDRAM SO-DIMM memory module.

Hi, I want to upgrade my RAM from 256 MB 400MHz DDR1 (hynix) to 1GB DDR1. Do the both will work together or i would have to use 1GB alone? Im having ASUS K8V- VM motherboard. Will it be compatible with...

It will be compatible but it is recommended, you use same type of modules(RAM)
ie 256 MB + 256 MB
1GB + 1GB
Plus the advantage of using two instead of one(If you want 2GB, go for 1-1Gb two modules, depends on you) are, if one fails other works.

Go to www.crucial.com and click on the Scan my System option. It will tell you how much memory your computer can handle, what is currently in the slots, and how much and what kind of memory is best for your system.

Upgrade affect warranty?

A ram upgrade will not affect your warranty. The RAM is one of the items that the manufacture allows the user to replace. You are good to go.
