You will have to remove the cutting deck from under the ride on to have better access to the belt
If you take a picture of the cutting deck once it is removed it will assist you in putting it back together.
To remove the cutting head belt from the engine bottom pulley you must push the foot pedal down and lock it in place to take the pressure off the belt to remove it from the pulley.
There is most probably a rod that hangs down close to the side of the pulley which is there to stop the belt from coming off when the pressure has been taken off the belt, you have to loosen the rod retaining bolt and move it away from the side of the pulley to get the room to remove the belt, there will be a cable that adjusts the deck cutting height which has to be removed from the cutting deck to be able to remove the deck, there should only be 3 anchor points that hold the deck under the mower, 2 on the sides and a steel rod throught the front with spring clips on them for quick removal.
when the deck is out you will see t hat both the belt pulleys on the deck have plastic guards on them which have to be removed to be able to get the belt off the pulleys.
Replace the belt and install all the parts in the reverse order that you removed them in.
Is a reasonably large job for a person who has never done it before but it is a job that anyone can do if they just take their time and also a few pics before removing just for a reference
Hope this helps

I have a 52" Husqvarna LGT 2654 riding lawn mower and when I engage the blades, the belt does not turn the pulley system. What could be causing this, the pulley idlers, or the belt?

depending on the age of the machine, there could be several possibilities
1-- belts are not tight enough--- belt tension system is not correct, wrong length belts
2--bearings for the shafts for the blades are rusted up and seized - preventing the blades from moving--- switch the machine off , disengage the belt drive and see if you can turn the blades by hand
3--- if you have an electric pto system to drive the belts to the blades then that system is not getting full power to engage the PTO or the clutch is not working--worn facings
take it to a service dealer and have a proper diagnosis done

What is tearing up my deck belt rz4621 zero turn husqvarna

Philip:

Could be one of a few problems. Easiest... disengage the blades (engine off) and try to turn the blades by hand. If any blade is hard to turn your blade spindle(s) need to be serviced or replaced. Look for the belt tensioner, and see that it is not loose or out of alignment. Check all of the pulleys for damage. Make sure that you have the correct size belt! If you are mowing very heavy growth, you may be stopping a blade while mowing, and that will eat up a belt in a hurry.

Changed blade belt on husqvarna cth194 had difficulty restarting engine but got it going. When blades engaged going uphill lawnmower starts to struggle and threatens to cut out. this is a two month old...

I do not think this is a belt issue, i had some problems like this, it turned out to be a fuel issue, with the fuel tank completley full it was ok, as the fuel level became lower the mower stalled, the problem was the fuel tank did not have enough fall for gravity to allow the fuel into the carb, we ended up fitting an electric fuel pump.

Husqvarna engine turns on but not blades

possible blade drive belt problem. look under deck to see if belt is routed around motor pulley as well as blade pulley's. You will also notice if belt is broken. Do not have engine running during this test!

My Husqvarna/Partner K 950 Circular Cut-Off saw drive belt slips on the clutch pulley whenever the circular blade is introduced to load.

I fear that the belt is slipping in the pulleys, the clutch is very unlikly to slip as it is a metal to metal contact, i have never had to fit a clutch due to it slipping, the K970 went on from the k950 and had a poly v belt and pulleys, you can retro fit the the pulleys belt and blade shaft, the loading on the standard belt is very high especially when using a 16" blade.

Husqvarna riding lawn mower (YTH21K46), mower blade clutch cable routing.

Its pretty straight forward to fit the cable, if it is not pulling the jockey hard enough into the belt it is more likly the belt is incorrectly fitted or has stretched.

I have a husqvarna riding mower that when i engage the blades the engine stops running

Could be something jamming a blade or belt. With the engine OFF and the key OUT make sure the blades and belts all move freely by hand. Clear out all grass and c**p from the blade and belt areas. You may have to remove the blade deck to do this - instructions are in your manual or download a manual from the Husqvarna website. Good Luck!

Blades will not engage on Husqvarna riding mower.

Could be a broken belt, loose belt (stretched) or something is under the mower deck jamming the blades. (stick for an example)
