Question about Acer Aspire 6920 Notebook PC
My ACER 6920 LCD screen looks damaged. Looks like there is a crack from the top and now the screen looks white and with some black lines. Can it be repaired/replaced?
What will be the expense if required to replace?
The screen is impossible to repair if its cracked. Getting a new LCD isn't that expensive but only if you know how to replace it. Getting one from manufacturer is around 130. but there is an ebay link on the bottom you can get one for 70 or so with shipping.
This link shows you how to replace a LCD screen. even tho its not your model but is very close to how yours look.
This is the link to a new LCD screen for your laptop.

Ive just replaced one of these screens, bit hit n miss along the way plus the discovering of numerous small screws. a word of warning though, be very careful of the small wires linking to the power jack, a black one came out on mine and im not really sure if ive got it back on right (not charging all the time)

Listen mate I just solve it on my own but it took me a little time to do that. Reparing in any service will cost you 200£ or more (include price of screen). The best shop I found is laptop-lcd-screen.co.uk - delivery next day. Cost 95£. Remember that there are 2 types of screen may be installed in acer 6920 so you have to check it very carefully. Check your model on the bottom of your laptop, then go on acer official page and check what type of screen you`ve got - then you can order. Next I`ve found a page with instruction how to open that type of computer (www.eservicemanual.info) and downloaded it (cost 2.20£). Problem with that type of laptop is that`s not easy to replace the screen. In most laptops you can change it by opening front (bezel) of the screen and it`s quite easy. In acer 6920 you`ve got to open it from the botton then loose some cables, remove screws which keep your front speaker board, remove both ends of tube and completely remove all screen from your laptop. Then you`ll have an access to 3 screws which are on the bottom of your screen so you can remove your screen bezel. Believe me it`s not easy so if you are not feel confident with things like that do not try on your own. Good luck anyway. If anybody have a same problem and would like to ask me about anything - firstname.lastname@example.org

Yes, the crack in the corner is probably a replacement, range from £100 on the diy buy a screen and fit yourself, to £600+ to a professional (rip off) replacemen ie send it off then get it back, prices probably a bit off though, been 4 years since i did mine, also depends on the size/quality of the replacement screen
if the lines are perfectly horizontal/vertical theres another problem, try an external monitor, if that works fine there may be an inverter problem,
