Check your cpu heatsink/fan. This sounds like an overheating problem as the cpu has a sensor that will automatically shut down your system to prevent it from frying. Hope this helps.

To check the fan/heatsink, you need to disconnect the power plug, then push the on/off button for a sec to discharge any static electricity. Open your case, without touching anything inside reconnect the power plug & then turn it on. Look to see if the fan is spinning. If not then re-disconnect the power plug and remove the fan. Replace with a compatible model. Hope this helps.

Hi.

First of all disconnect the hard drive which is clicking and try to turn the desktop on. If it turns on then the HDD is causing the computer problems.
If it doesn't boot up then can you tell me if there is a blinking LED on the PSU (power supply unit)?

If you can see the windows logo and get into the bios then it is not the graphics card.

Most likely cause is the os itself, just after post press F8 repeatetly until you have the boot mode page open and choose safe mode, in safe mode do a system restore, goto start bar, programs, accessories, system tools and system restore, and start from a resent restore point. This can can take a while, so be patient and let the computer restore itself until you have the windows screen up.

If the restore dosent work, goto safe mode again, right click on my computer goto properties and enter device manager, in there under display adapters click on the plus sign and uninstall the graphics card, reboot. hope this helps post back if need farther help.

Wireless network connection

you may need to run the network wizard, as your sony may not be set up as using a gateway type connection and may be instructing other pcs to connect via itself and not on the network.
