Question about HP Computers & Internet
Go to the hp website and download the latest drivers for your laptop , audio, chipset drivers etc and put those onto a cd or a memory stick ( some storage device ) ready for the next part
reboot into safe mode and un install all the audio devices ( head phones software ) the lot !!
Re install the drivers in safe mode if possible and reboot , if not reboot back into normal mode and re install them there.
Once you have the correct drivers for your model of laptop from the hp site that should rectify that , obviously you will have to re install the drivers / software for your headphone set etc but the microsoft high defintion has obviously altered some critical settings which you are not aware of and wont know about and the best way to fix it is to un install it completely and re install the correct drivers.
You can edit the registry as much as you like but because you did not have filemon and regmon to hand you will never know what keys were changed and what there default values where or anything so you are most likely wasting your time in the registry.
Don't stress out about it as its not worth it.
If the above does not work then your best bet ( as it will most likely need it from time to time anyway ) is to backup your laptop ( data, etc ) and then just do a fresh install and re install the lot.
Obviously only doing that as a last resort

You are absolutely correct .that is no unmute option for internal mic option in the laptop.but if the mic section the assembly fitted in the latop ,if that is short or not working.the noise will not come from mic or from the head phone connected to the mic externally.i mean to say its not any software or driver or any false setting problem.its the hardware problem in the laptop.so just get your mic section circuit checked by a locval repair technician.there will be definately a minor short circuity in that circuit .due to that the mic is not working and supporting properly.it will just require a mini soldering job to be done by opening the laptop .this is common problem in many laptop ,the mic assembly gets short internally.
it will get started after this.the cost of soldering will be very negligible.this will help you.
thanks.please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.
