1. Make sure your battery is fully charged.
2. Check connections from battery to starter relay.
3. Make sure you have voltage going to the start side (small wire) of the relay with the key in the "start" position.
4. If you don't have voltage going to the start side of the relay (small wire) with key in the start positon, then your starter switch is faulty (under dash usually mounted on top of steering column).
5. If you have voltage to the start side of the relay (small wire) with key in start position, and it don't click when trying to start your car, then the starter relay is bad.
6. If your starter relay clicks, but engine don't turn over, then the starter is faulty.

My 1999 Altima will not go in gear manual trans

Check to see if it will go into gear with the engine off, Key in in and on but not started. If it will and will not when the engine is running it means the clutch is not disengaging the engine from the transmission and the synros are holding you our.

Does an1999 Altima have a stating relay?

No it doesn't Cathy, has a fusible link going to it,just follow positive battery cable, may be bad,to see if it's good, get meter and put on cable at starter and ground it somewhere and turn key,but don't start, should have 12 volts or more,if not then link is blown.

1999 Altima stutters, surges and stalls

You will have to figure out if it is a fuel or spark problem to proceed.
Vent in gas tank could be causing the pressure in the tank to cause a loss in pressure to the injectors. Something electrical such as a relay could be failing.
Is the check engine light on when the engine is running ?

My sunroof in my 1999 nissan altima stopped working, do I need to change a fuse?

It could be a fuse, the switch, a relay, the motor or damaged wiring. Even if it is just a fuse, something is wrong that made it blow. If you're not experienced with automotive or electrical repair it may be best to take the car to a qualified repair shop. Your owners manual and/or fuse box cover will tell you which fuse is for the sunroof. Good luck.

Where is the power window relay located on a 1999 nissan altima

Relays are pretty much always as close as practical to the piece of equipment they power. This would put them inside the door. You can test this by operating the window switch and listening for a click -- the click is the solenoid in the relay pulling the contacts together.

1999 nissan altima my horn just came on while parked stayed on

Hello, there is a relay block which looks to be rectangular in shape and is under the hood. On cars with heated seats the horn relay is in the front (radiator side). The part number is given as #25630 and their phone is 1-800-527-7909. Hope this helps.
