Question about ASK Proxima InFocus LP790 and Proxima DP8000 Replacement Projector Lamp - SP-LAMP-001 Projector Lamp

Lp790 projector does not turn on

I found an lp790 in our church closet. i'm trying to resurrect it. i plugged it in and turned it on but the lamp doesn't seem to come on. the fan doesn't come on, either. i do get a green light next to the computer button. there's also a yellow light above the "alarm" label.

i opened it up and there is a lamp inside.

1. should the fan come on if the bulb is bad?
2. is there a way to test the projector without buying a new bulb?
3. is the bulb bad or is it something else?

thanks!

It would still try to turn on even iff there wasn't a lamp in it. if it won't even turn on, see if the switch inside the lamp door is working. it won't turn on if the door is open. also, the thermoswitch on to of the lamp compartment (through the inside) may also be blown and needs replacement.

I have a sharp notevision DLP xr10x projector. Two red lights, one is the lamp, the other standby/power. I changed the lamp but nothing changed. I can't even turn the thing on. Any ideas?

Hi Stephen,

Do you hear any fans starting when you turn on the projector? Try unplugging and then plugging in the projector. Make sure that the lamp door is secured as the projector will not start if it is loose. You should also reset the timer for your projector. The manual can be found on the site of www.allprojectorlamps.com.

Ballast issue on LP640

first off, many churches and schools hang their projectors from the ceiling, and the only time they take them down is when they don't work. it sounds rational, but it gets dusty up there, and without proper and relatively frequent cleaning, the dust builds up and the projector can't release the heat properly. this causes a lot of malfunctions. the ballast is only one of them.

to replace the ballast:

make sure you can get the part from infocus or an authorized service center. it's part # 525-0085-51. after you remove the cover (4 screws on the bottom. you'll need a T10 torx driver. slowly slide the top forward and lift off), gently remove the ribbon cable by sliding the cable locks (on both sides of the cable) towards the front and pulling the cable out. the ballast is at the front of the projector next to the lens and in front of the lamp. pull it out and remove the ballast from it's housing. there are 3 cables coming off- the power plug, the lamp plug, and the lamp enable plug. remove those and replace the ballast. reverse the steps to install.

Sharp XG-NV2U projector not firing up

there is a fuse in the block where the power cord plugs in. you have to disassembe the unit and remove the circuit boards to get to it as far as I can tell. the fuse is a 250volt 5amp ceramic fuse 20mm. I have the same problem and just found the blown fuse but I am still looking for the replacement fuse to buy.

Can't get computer images to project

Hi, I have found out that you must have the laptop set to an external monitor, in the control panel, display area, click on 2, then you must have the projector turned on before you start the laptop so it can recognize that the projector is there. Also make certain that you allow the unit to cool off by turning the lamp off, leaving the fan on and open the door where the projection lens is located.

Hi,

Pls clean the filters and check the lamp by opening the lamp cover. If lamp looks okay in all aspects then send the projector to any engineer to check the ballast unit of the lamp.

Infocus LP725 projector

The Projector will turn off after so many hours of running the same bulb module. The counter will turn on a replace bulb LED. Installing the new bulb module should reset the counter and turn off the LED.

Check the projector’s lamp to ensure that it is securely connected
in the lamp module. Make sure by removing it and reinserting it.

Check the cables for problems.

When testing, power up in this order. Projector, Computer monitor, Computer.

A minor power surge may cause the lamp to shut off. Turn the
projector off, wait at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

I hope these suggestions help
