Calypso behaving badly

Did you remove the tub ring and wash plate?  A lot of times there will be lint and other foreign objects lodged in the drain opening between the tub and the pump.  You have to remove the wash plate in order to get to it, however.  The most common item found are the wire hoops from under support bras.  The wire make it's way between the tub and basket and gets lodged in the drain line.  Eventually lint and debris starts to collect and you end up with a long drain error.  Post back with comments and let me know if you've already done this.  If not, it might be worth the effort to take a look.  If you need instructions on how to get the tub ring and wash plate out, let me know.

WASHER WIIL STOP EARLY AND WILL NOT SPIN OUT WATER THE CLOTHES ARE STILL WET WHEN I CHECK THEM AND THE LIGHT IS USUALLY BLINKING I TRIED CLEANING OUT THE LOWER FILTER AND THAT DID NOT FIX IT....

Be sure the drain hose is not blocked and be sure it does not have a kink in it when you slide your washer back in place. If that is not the problem, it's probably your timer. Mechanical timers have a tendency to "skip" cycles over time.

My washer fills up with water and goes thru the wash cycle but when it's time to drain, it just sits there and clicks.

Washer will not proceed to spin cycle.

Most likely its the door switch. The best place to jump it out is in the control console. You wiil pop off end caps ,remove screws, and the plug is on rihgt in back l=jump the two black wires just let green dangle. I always do this on the switch side of the plug in case I decide later to add a switch.

Will not spin,

Washing machines may drain but doesn't spin because of the following reasons:

  • The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

  • A belt may be broken. Many washing machines have one or two belts. If a belt is broken or badly worn, you need to replace it with a genuine belt from the manufacturer. (Some washing machine belts are designed with special characteristics not found in automotive belts.)

  • The drive motor may be defective. Many washer brands use a reversing motor. For agitation the motor runs in one direction, for spinning and draining, the other. It's possible for a motor to burn out in one direction and continue to operate in the other. If this happens, you need to replace the entire motor.

  • The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. When this is the problem, you usually hear a loud sound during the spin cycle. Call a qualified appliance repair technician.

  • Thank You
