No water in brew head but leaking out of machine.

Hi,I have a Breville Bar Vista and when I try to brew a shot, water leaks out between the body and the brewhead and no water actually gets on the coffee itself. The coffee stays perfectly dry. Any ideas on what the problem is/ how to fix it?

There is a gasket in clear silicone that seals the handle when you brew the coffee, it is most probably damaged. When that happens, there is not enough pressure to push water trough so it comes out where it should not. To remove it, you have to undo a single screw right where the water touches the coffee, you will need a short screwdriver, a long one won't do. Remove the round piece with the holes, remove the gasket and put in a new one. Get two, so you don't have to run around to get a new one next time, it will probably need to be replace in 6 months or so, Make sure youclean your machine, because if you don't, you will run in to all kinds or problems. They sell tablet from Italy that are better than CLR which should not be used, it is too strong. If the water in your area is really strong, vinegar will not do either. Good Luck.

There is a hose/plastic pipe that goes from the reservoir to the cofee granules. it's mis-aligned or popped out of its spot. just put it back in place. its inside the reservoir you can reach it by hand.

I own a Breville 800ESXLespresso machine which i already decalcified, that leaks from brew head and handle moves while brewing

If you've had the machine for a while, your brew head seal (gasket) is probably damaged or shrunken from age/heat and needs to be replaced. That's most likely why the filter holder moves and leaks while brewing. Breville brew head seals are rather difficult to locate, but I personally stock them and sell them at a reasonable cost. I sell lots of new and used parts for various coffee machines, but specialize in Krups. If interested in purchasing a Breville brew head seal, contact me at cowboy_romeo@yahoo.com and I'll make arrangements. I accept Paypal to make the transaction safe and secure for us both.

How do I fix a leak from the coffee holder unit

Does it leak around the pod holder, or after the holder is removed?
It it is around then you need to replace the head gasket.
If it is after then the solenoid or the valve seat is damaged.

Ascaso Dream water leak & bad shots

Hi
Sounds like you have a leak in the system. If your handy, you can remove the top. Remove everything. Water tank included. Unplug the machine. Now turn the machine upside down on a towel. There are 2 screws behind the brew head. Remove them, then lift the machine off the top and set it right side up. Now you can see the inside of the machine where the boiler is. Do not touch anything inside the machine. Replace everything and plug the machine in. Now turn the machine on and try to make a shot the same way. This should show you where your trouble is. Once you see where the trouble is, unplug the machine. Contact seattlecoffeegear.com, or 1st-line.com. They can help.

Steam from brew head, but no water

Hi,

  1. If you take the coffee filter and head it in light, can you see a little hole in the middle? if not, try to clean it else you have to replace it.
  2. Can you brew out water without the filter holder in the machine? If not, loosen the screw in the middle on the machine where the filterholder shall be and take of the filter. Clean the filter and put it on the machine again.
Hope this help you

Temperature adjustment?

the rear temp sensor is in charge of the brew temp. To increase the temp, lift sensor and clean out the thermal paste. To further increase, insert some fine metal mesh between sensor and boiler. The front senser is for emergency (overheat) cut off. Don't tamper! Brought to you by Jim Vonkas

Breville ESP8XL Espresso Machine Cafe Roma leaking.. help please..

We had that happen and it was a crack in the black ring that holds the filter. Breville could not supply us with one but we found an OEM part in aluminum from http://www.vancouverwireedm.com/caferomadiyt.htm. We received it 1 week after ordering. It was pretty easy to replace. Our machine works fine now.

BrevilleUSA.com has a silicon seal (steam ring) to replace faulty or worn ones. There is no shipping charge, and they are $4 each. To replace the steam ring you'll need to remove the stainless spray disk on the brew head with a phillips screwdriver (one screw) and pull off the old ring (pay attention to the direction and placement of the stainless disk).  Takes about 2 minutes to do.
Part # .800ESXL/192

Also, on mine I noticed that the filter holder was ground down at the factory a bit too much on one side, which causes a slight leak down one side (coffee, not water).  You might check the holder (with the filter removed) for imperfections that could lead to your leak. Good luck.
