Remove fuser, remove top door, remove top cover, remove rear cover,remover left side panel,remove dc controller cover, now remove itb belt and toners,then you will see two screws holding the pickup assy in place at the front, remove screws and lift pickup assy up and forward, thenyou will see the connection to the dc controller, remove and lift out, any problems, post back i will try to help.

You either have a bad toner cartridge or a failed scanner assembly. Here's a free copy of the HP 2300 Service Manual to help you isolate it down. Check the troubleshooting section and it will give you a number of checks. The manual may mention a High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS) section on the DC Controller board but that would be highly unlikely. We have been servicing these since they were introduced and have never installed a DC Controller.
