Sounds crazy but have you checked the battries in your remote , sometimes low battries will cause corruption in the internal processor chip and all that is required to sort it out is a new set .. try this if just replacing the battries and turning the set back on by the remote has no effect .. check the back of the set to see if it has a reset button some do other than that a local service engineer may be able to update the software on your machine for a small fee or at least be able to give you a free estimate on its repair .hope this helps .. regards Vortash

The disc is stuck in the player and the tv screen says it cannot get a signal.

Barbara, your dvd player needs to be either on channel 3 or 4. If you have a local channel 3 or 4 switch it to the one that is not local. Or it could be a video 1,2 or 3. Just keep using the remote in that format and you will find the signal.

My disc tray won't open the lights turn on and work but the disc tray just won't open. How can I fix this?

hi,
You have to check two things.
1. You have to check the tray loading belt in the mechanism. To see the same you should remove the mechanism.because the loading belt is beneath the cd tray. As it is cyberhome it will be very difficult to remove the mechanism for an user. if your capable for doing the same then make try. Because you have to remove the top cover then the back panel, then the mechanism. Take care the mother board is attached to the mechanism.

2. You have to check the cyberhome dvd player will show this type of complaint if the Spindle motor is faulty (oppen or short ). Spindle motor is one on which the cd rotates. It will not cost a lot.

It won't play a dvd! and when it does it just sits like it is stopped!!

Hello

Eject the DVD from the Cyberhome DVD player. Look over the bottom of the disc. If any dirt and fingerprints are present, remove them with a damp cloth, moving from the inner circle of the DVD to the outside.

Insert the DVD into a scratch repair device, if the DVD has any light scratches (deep scratches are not reparable). Turn on the DVD repair kit and the device literally sands down the scratch. When this is finished, the DVD should work correctly with the Cyberhome DVD player.

Avoid inserting homemade DVDs into the disc drive. The Cyberhome is not compatible with many self-created DVDs, causing a "Disc Read Error" message to appear on the screen.

Spray compressed air into the disc drive of the DVD player. The compressed air removes dust and other debris from the laser and reading lens in the player.

Keep getting a "bad disc " response. The player has been working. Have tried other discs.

I have the same player. now my player wont turn on or do any thing. your problem also happened before the player died. when you press eject or close, does the drawer move slow? If it does the players going to go to the grate electronic place in the sky.

Cyberhome 300 not stuck on main blue Cyberhome screen

It may not be able to read the DVD because the laser is dirty. First try to reset the system ( with no disc inserted, open then close the disc tray and hold the stop switch on the UNIT NOT THE REMOTE for six seconds). Then with the disc tray open using a can of "AIR DUSTER" - dry air in an aerosol can, insert the can nozzle into the disc tray cavity and spray away. That may blow off any dust on your laser eye. Try it again and if it still wont work, unplug the unit and remove the six small Philips screws that hold the cover on( it pivots up and off from under a lip in the front panel), plug it back in and open the disc tray exposing the laser and clean the lenses with Isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip. Do this GENTLY you don;t want to disturb the laser alignment. Dry with another Q-tip or the Airduster and re-assemble. Note well the unit will be POWERED with the cover off so BE CAREFUL. Just did this with mine and it now works like a charm again.

DVD stopped playing all DVDs

Reset you player by doing the following:
With the player on, hooked properly to your television, and on the correct station:
Open the tray
Close the tray (with no DVD inserted)
Hold the stop button down for a full 5 seconds
The CyberHome screen should appear. You should be able to play your dvd's now.

Cyberhome 300 DVD Player: pal to ntsc mode?

You might want to reset to factory defaults, but there is an error in the manual. In order to reset to factory defaults, turn on (with no disc inside), DO NOT OPEN THE DISC TRAY, just press the stop button on the player for 5 seconds.

Bad disc or insert disc problem

If you are using a copied disc try a real one. But this model of DVD Player is made so cheap. it sound like the laser assembly is bad or the motor that spins the disc is stuck or going out. If you are good at electroninics you could take the lid off load a disc and see if it spins if not give it a spin clockwise and see if it takes off. You probably should replace unit for price of a new one.
