Now I'm not sayinf this is your specific problem, however, in my 20+years and my fathers 40+ years experience, RCA and GE had a common problem where the flyback and/or the trippler would go short in the RPTV's causing the TV not to work. For the past 10 years or so we havn't been able to locate replacement parts for these problems, and if one could, I would expect to pay $70-$160 just for the parts! Again, this may not be your specific problem, my father has come across the short rectifier problem a couple times, but this is not as common as the flyback/trippler.This may be an area to explore and i hope it helps, even just to give ones mind a break. I have an RCA p56830bl big screen tv. When I plug it in the wall and push the power button, nothing happens. I checked the fuse and voltage going into the TV and they are both fine. Any iteas?
Shut Tv off rolled across room, then tv would not power up.
I have RCA 52 ' tv and it just went pop pop last night , now if I push the power button the speakers click couple times but the screen stay black nothing happen, I can hear some kind other click sound like a protection mode.

I just received a RCA P46730WK (chassis PTK169PCA) for free. I have been repeatedly assured that it was in perfect working condition before I picked it up. It was lacking a power cable, so I ordered one (and a new remote just in case). The set will not turn on with either remote (new or old) or the power button on the front. The clear glass fuse inside the back panel near the power input appears fine - wire is intact, no fog on the glass.
The set hasn't been powered up for weeks... do these sets need to "charge" prior to power up? Could something have been shaken loose during the move? We were very careful moving it and it was tightly secured in the truck for the trip.
Can I test the power-up by just plugging it into the wall, or should it run through the cable box with all cables connected?
I hit the on button and nothing happens. I checked the power plugs and all are working for the other components sitting on top of the TV such as a tuner and DVD player. Could it be a power switch problem or perhaps a fuse of some kind?
Sorry I forgot to tell you the tv model...RCA P46729BA, chassis PTK169PCA. The on switch isn't working. what now?

No power on rca P46732BA. first the power button stopped working and now not turn with remote. Remote and outlet ok. I thought next to check are fuses. Is it safe to open the back and how many fuses to check.

My GE 46GW947 Rear Projection TV is dead in the water. I checked the fuse on the main board and it was blown. I replaced it and it blew again. I'm seeing a short on the bridge rectifier. I'm going to remove it and see if the short is still there. If it is, then I'll go back to another solid state device I'm seeing the same short on. I hope it works!
