Question about Proview PX 780 Monitor
I have an old monitor with built in speakers (and computer) that i just recently set up. it works fine, i'm on it now, windows xp, everything is super great! the only thing is, before i updated it to windows xp, the speakers worked fine and now it says there is no audio device. what's wrong with it and how do i fix it?
Please try to check it from Control Panel > Sound, speech & audio devices > Sound and Audio Devices > Hardware tab > then select the Device Name then click Properties tab to verify its condition status or you opt to click Troubleshoot tab. regards

I upgraded to Windows 7 recently and when I reattached my old Proview 780 Monitor which has built-in speakers, there was no sound driver that was working and the computer did not recognize the speakers built into the monitor. I opened the control panel, clicked on "Hardware and Sound" and then instead of clicking "sound" I went to the top of that window and under Printers and Devices, clicked Device manage. On the next screen, I went down the list to "Monitor", clicked it and whatever appeared below -some unknown generic thing - I right clicked and when given the option, allowed Windows to search on puter and on-line for an appropriate driver. It did and seconds later -voila -SOUND.

Tips for a great answer:

Oct 05, 2009 | HP JBL Platinum Computer Speakers

Jul 12, 2008 | HP vs15 15"LCD Flat Panel Monitor
Jan 18, 2008 | Cornea CT 1700 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
as you say that old speaker is working from the same tower means your computer is ok.
the problem is in speaker only.
plz chk that while shifting some wire must have broken or loose or speaker not connected properly.
ultimately chk connection.
