Question about Western Digital Passport WDXML800UE (WDXML800UETE) 80 GB Hard Drive
I get the error "Cannot copy file - make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use" when I try to copy files onto my WD1600BEV 160GB External HD. Free disk space available is still around 54GB and the file is not in use. Also, I am getting the error "Cannot safely eject disk" when I try to eject the HD from my computer. Thanks in advance
I think your machine could be affected with a virus. Most of the viruses do that to block you to access the hard disk or any external media. Try this good antivirus that i have come across the net its a demo version that works for 30 days but it will do you good.

You will have to be the computer administrator to change any values on any hard drive
click start control panel user accounts you should see a box with the administrator and the guest account if you have made one click on the administrator this may vary depending on which operating system you have
click start click to open on my computer you should see your hard drive usually C: your usb drive E: or F: right click select properties there will be an array of options select the security tab option then advanced make sure you have full control in windows 7
If you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to:
click start right click on my computer select open
Right click the icon of your Flash Drive (It should be F: D: or something)
Click Properties in the menu that comes up
Click the Sharing tab
And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.?
Hope this helps you
