Re: medion

I am sure that it is because of your device driver. Try removing your driver and install the latest driver from the providers site

My dvd rom isnt loading but driver is up to date

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question /exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click to update driver

you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd restart your computer then plug them back this should activate the found new hardware wizard

if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem
"you only need to do the following"
if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer

Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer

Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

hope this helps

Just got a blank screen when turning on with a line flashing on the left

That means your system is trying to boot from some othter source. Make sure there no CD in CD/DVD Drive. If its there remove it and remove the usb flash drive and other usb devices and restart your pc. it will boot normally. If its not booting again, go to bios by pressing f12 or f10 or f2 and select harddisk as 1st boot device and save it and exit. now you can restart your pc and it will work

DVD drive

Does a CD work?

also what kind of a DVD is it? A movie? A empty disc?

Whats the brand and model of the laptop?

try cleaning the lens with a Q-tip and alcohol 70% or use just water on the other end of the q-tip to carefully clean it and dry it with the other end, I've done that a few times myself with just water not having the aclhol around.

Laptop not recognizing CD drive F

the yellow exclamation mark, states that the device is not functioning correctly.
options are:-

1:) go to the manufacturers website, and see if you can download a driver for this.
2:) try uninstalling the device, reboot and see if the device manager, finds new hardware, if so reinstall the device drivers.
3:) eject or remove the device, re-insert ( possible dirty-bad-loose Connection.

Boot error, won't even boot with xp cd

you might wanna check if your XP is a dvd or cd. if it is a dvd your cd drive can not read dvd cd's. if it is a cd than your cd/dvd drive is not working. another thing you can do is to take out your cd/dvd drive and plug it back in. to see if it works. if the drive is working, you can try a different XP CD to see if it is working. if it is still doing the same thing. you might wanna check your hard drive to see if it works.

hope that helps.
