"compressor not functioning". You Probably need a New Compressor. I have a Family Member whos Refrig/Freezer Compressor had to be replaced under Warranty when it was only 2 years Old.

I have a kenmore elite 795.77549600 and it's not cooling like it used to the compressor is very hot to the touch and one of the lines is frosted over what could it be? Cleaned fan and coils too help!!

This can happen if the freezer fan is not running or you have excessive ice build up from the unit not defrosting. Check to see if the freezer fan runs by pushing the light switch in the freezer and look for frost build up on the freezer back panel.

Top freezer working fine refrigerator part not cooling we've cleaned the coils

Did you check for an ice build up behind the rear panel in your freezer? It sounds like your defrost system is not working and allowing ice and frost build up that is blocking the cooling tubes to the refrigerator.

But also make sure that the evaporator fan in functional so that it forces the cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator through the cooling tubes.

Have Kenmore 106.8607913, top freezer. Not cold enough. All fans working. Cleaned bottom coils. Not ice bound. Compressor clicks on, then off about 1 or 2 seconds later. Compressor or thermostat,...

If the fans continue to run when the compressor kicks off the thermostat is functioning normal.

The problem could either be the compressor itself or more likely the start device (relay) that controls the compressor, it is an easy component to replace and mounts directly to the compressor.

The part number for the relay is 989662

If the relay is good and compressor is bad, you would be looking at about $500.00 to repair

Need a New Compressor. That is the only way of Cooling. If it was working and not cooling it could be the Condensor or low on Freon.

KENMORE TRIO 2004 59675523400 REEFER/FREEZER NOT COOLING

It is the compressor that has failed. The hum is it trying to start and the following click is the overload protector opening. What is the temperature where the refrigerator is located? Allow the compressor to cool down before trying to restart it. If it still does not restart after it has cooled off it is done.
