Question about Panasonic DMR-ES20EG DVD Recorder
We purchased a Panasonic DVD Recorder Model DMR-E20 a few years ago.
Last month we purchases a Vizio Television VW32L HDTV40A. With this TV, the channels are no longer 1 or 2 digits, but are like this: 9-1, 9-2, 25-1, etc.
We can't figure out how to get the Panasonic DVD Recorder to recognize the new channel style (the numbers with a hyphen in the middle). When we have the recorder scan for channels, it doesn't pick up any, either when set to cable or antennae.
Is there any way we can still use the Panasonic DVD Recorder with the Vizio TV?
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

it sounds like it is a signal problem check all conections to arial also if your signal has gone week you will have trouble picking it up but first check all cables and conectors if this dont solve problem then the problem might be that where the arial plugs into the digital box this might have a bad solder or circuit problem just make sure all cables and connections are secure does it let you see the signal strengt in the setup mode some do some dont let me know how you get on

Take a red, white, and yellow AV cable and plug it from the AV out of the cable box to the red, white, and yellow In of the dvd recorder (change cable box to the channel you want to record). Then change your TV to the channel you want to view.

Unit must get the TV guide from an analog station. If cable company goes digital you loose the data. If the station that hosted TV guide goes digital you loose the data. This unit does not have a digital ATSC tuner only analog NTSC tuner. If you are still getting analog data there are a few capacitors on the power supply under the hard drive that bulge up and cause problems. They should be replaced with higher voltage rating types.
