I just purchased an acer aspire zg5 and when I turned it on it loads the operating system, (windows EX Home edition). It gives me the blue screen of death. I did Alt and press F10 to restore it, it restore but keeps crashing time after time.

Did you try to upgrade the OS? It happened to me that way everytime. You just can't do it, as far as I'm concerned. The few times I got vists onto it, my network devices stopped working, and I was never able to get a better version of XP, no matter what route I took (Flash boot, ext. disk drive, usb hard drive, nothing). Gotta just be happy with what you got, or back up everything you want every time you try it.

Follow these steps to fix a Blue Screen in Safe Mode

Once booting start, select "Safe Mode" from the boot menu.

Scan your hard drive by running your antivirus software . If the program locates an infection, move it to your vault or follow the on-screen instructions. After program completion, if a virus was removed, attempt to reboot your computer and see if this clears up the problem. If not, restart your computer in safe mode.

Restore your computer to a previous point. Click on the "Start" button. Select "All Programs", "Accessories", "System Tools" and finally "System Restore". Choose a restore point on or before the last day your computer worked without error. Finally Reboot your computer to see if it loads correctly.

Hi, As per the description of the issue that you have provided ;even after performing a complete factory restore you are unable to get to load Windows and you get a blue screen to flash for a few seconds. This is an issue possibly related with the Hard drive or motherboard in the laptop. So i would suggest that if the laptop is covered under warranty please contact ACER so that the repair could done under the warranty. In case the warranty has expired I would suggest that you contact a local technician at your place who would be able to assist you with the replacement. Thank you for your time and best wishes for your effort.

Hello i have an Acer Aspire One model zg5 netbook

You're going to need to boot it from the Windows XP installation disk, which means if you don't have a CD drive you'll need to get an external CD-ROM drive. This will fix the problem.

If your computer is Vista, it's asking for the system disk. If it isn't a Vista operating system, you're trying to install the wrong driver. You can download the correct driver here.

Error loading operating system - Windows Xp

If you are attempting to use Recovery and this is happening, Most likely you have a corrupted recovery partition....

If you are attempting to load Windows XP from A CDrom (Externally)
you will need to use an XP Cd that has integrated Sata drivers.. Windows home/pro 32bit does not..

Or Use a Windows Media Center Edition Version
