I have a Magellan Maestro 4000 ROM wiped. Does not start
I have a Magellan Maestro 4000. Trying to update the firmware I lost the files. After that, the device would only display the Magellan logo with the progress that and freeze. Even worse, I formatted the flash in an attemp for fixing it. Now it will only access the bottloader menu, and if I push only the power button it won't start. Now it is totally bricked :(. I have been trying to look for winceimg.bin and cks and uboot.bin and cks, but I have not found anything yet. Any help is EXTREMELY appreciated

try and run the firmware update again. make sure the its fully charged or plugged in. this usually works though sometimes it wont depending on what files are missing..they are other ways to fix this problem, but i recommend you call magellan to get it fixed. they will repair any of their gps that were rendered inoperable do to there updates.
make sure its not muted or volume turned down. if ok then use the hard reset on the side (tiny hole)use paper clip to reset it. if none of those work check your firmware version and see if its the latest..i have the latest updates for magellan 2200t 3100 3140 4000 4040 and 4050
it is not a scam .then why did you bought it ,i did on my magellan maestro 4000 the firmware update and map but this unit does not come with turn by turn like the old roadmate700 which gave the option to turn on or off turn by turn voice.but what can you do that is life. regardless you must go to magellan website and do all the Upgrades and Maps
Magellan Maestro 4040 Voice Upgrade
Magellan Maestro 4040 Voice Upgrade
Welcome. You are about to retrieve an Authorization Code for an unlock code so that you can upgrade your Magellan Maestro 4040.
To purchase an Authorization Code you will need to:
Login to your existing user account, or create a new Magellan user account.
Register your product if you have not already done so.
Have a valid credit card with a billing address in North America or Europe. (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover in North America, Visa or Mastercard in Europe).
NOTE: This upgrade includes a new sound engine with a text-to-speech feature and an expanded vocabulary. This upgrade is non-refundable and non-reversible.
If you followed the procedure closely, you now have an SD card with your backup on it. The backup consists of two folders: BACKUP, and USBTRANS. Insert the backup SD card in your PC's reader slot and open a "file explorer" aka "Windows Explorer", not to be confused with "Internet Explorer". You will use Windows Explorer to click and drag the USBRANS folder to the Maestro.
With the Maestro 3100 connected to the PC, a couple of Explorer folders will open and you can see the file structure for the GPS in 1, and in the other one a separate file structure for the blank SD card needed for the update. Look at the file structure for the GPS and you should see a handful of folders including "SYS".
Start the upgrade program, following the procedures.
Click the NEXT button at the bottom of the procedures screen.
Immediately copy the backed up USBTRANS folder (and all contents) to the SYS folder on the GPS.
The update should now find the Maestro 3100 and proceed with the update.
SUMMARY: copy USBTRANS (it should contain 1 file: UNIT.DAT)
from your BACKUP SD card (not the one in the Maestro)
