On my Visio tv channel 3 all of a sudden doesn't

The DVD player should also have jacks for image and audio on the back that can be connected to the same type on the set presuming it has those.

Doesn't show anything on TV

I am sure that your cables are connected correctly. If they are your TV and DVD/VCR palyer has to be on the same function. i.e. aux on the newer TV's or channel 2 or 1 on the older models. THis is a easy fix and this will start you on the right track.

My dvd player appears to be working - the disk is in place and the numbers advance as if it is playing - but all the tv screen displays is No Signal. I've talked to a Comcast tech and the problem doesn't...

Make sure your TV input source selector is set to the correct option (Video 1, Video 2 or Rear Video Connection or whaever the options are for your TV) when you want to play a DVD.

Try using the DVD player on a different TV to see if the DVD player is working OK.

Then try a different DVD player hooked up to your TV to see if your TV is set up OK.

You can also try using a different set of cables just in case the cables are faulty.

Try using an S-Video cable from your DVD player to your TV (if they both have those connections)and see if you get any signal that way.

When you are testing, be sure to check the sound on your TV to see if you are getting any audio signal from your DVD player.

By carrying out these troubleshooting procedures you should be able to narrow down exactly where the problem is and then fix it.

Try double checking your connection on both ends (from the dvd player and to your tv). Be sure the colors of the cable (e.g. red, white, yellow) are inserted in the correct place (according to color) on both the dvd player and the tv. Also check to make sure when you turn your dvd player on and the tv on that your tv is on the correct input. The tv usually shows which input is being used where the cables are connected (e.g. audio/video 1, hdmi 1, etc). If the tv does not specify the different inputs where the cables are inserted, use the tv remote to go through the different inputs by pressing the input button until you have either selected the correct one or gone through all of the available inputs. Be sure to allow enough time (10-15 seconds) for each input to register any kind of signal, and also be sure that the dvd player is on before searching through the inputs.

You connect up a DVD to a TV via the Audio Visual leads, they go into the Red White, the Audio, & Yellow, the composite Video. In & Out. They wire color to color. Then you select AV on the TV. & press Play on DVD.

Cannot connect DVD Player to cable ready television

If your tv does not have the standard 3 plug video ports ( Yellow, White, Red ) then you will need an RF modulator to step in between the Direct TV box and the tv on the cable line.
RadioShack sells them as well as many other places.

I am trying to connect an akai dvd player to directv, please help

good day. to connect your any DVD player to any TV screen always remember this color code

from DVD back part:

yellow = video out

red/blue/green( in a row) = component video out ( this can only be used for screen with component video inputs)

Black = digital audio ( rarely use unless)
Red and white (in a row) = Audio output (left and right audio)

where to connect from TV screen.

Locate where A/V INPUTS (audio/video socket) from your TV screen, you can see it either at the BACK/SIDE or somtimes in FRONT of TV screen , having marked as "AV1"AV2"AV3' .

Once you found TV input, you must first have RCA cable (color code cable to connect player to screen) then connect the RCA cable at the back of your DVD player, simply follow color code

RCA yellow marked cable = DVD yellow socket
RCA RED and WHITE marked cable = DVD RED and white socket (second row for your player)

then connect the other end of the RCA cable to TV screen, first select which input where you gonna place the DVD player ( either AV1, Av2 or Av3 if do have multiple inputs)

once decided which INPUT to connect the player.
ex. if you select AV1 as input there would be 3socket on its row (yellow/red/white)

now connect the other end of RCA cable to the screen by following the same color code:

RCA yellow cable = TV screen A/V1 input yellow socket
RCA RED and White = TV screen A/V1 input red and white socket.

My old TV does'ny have any place to insert plugs. Can I use It?

Normally older TVs do not have the audio/video inputs to connect the DVD player. Click here to find the adapter so you can connect the DVD player to it and from the adapter to the TV. The TV should be tune to channel 3 or 4.

Instructions to install a dvd player to our tv

It's rather straightforward; Just connect the colored wires to the back of your TV and the other ends to your DVD player. Don't have those connections on your TV? Don't fret; there's quite a few places that sell a device called an "RF converter" and it connects to older TVs and converts the Red, White, and Yellow wires to either channel 3 or 4.(Composite to RF)Hope this helps...accordianman
