Hitachi ultravision digital projection TV. The picture scrambles horizontally. The colors look fine. The picture is great for the first few minutes the TV is on, then it scrambles. I've unplugged it,

This sounds like a heating problem..Either there is something keeping the heat inside the cabinet like stuff on top of the cooling vents (also on the sides and bottom) or there is dust inside. Blow the thing clean with clean, dry compressed air inside the cabinet.

My top ds screen is white and i have an R4. the bottom screen is fine though. help!

the problem may be that the screen cord may have been cut from the bottom screen so that is why you cant see the top screen so go get it checked by gamestop or other video game stores

DS lite screen

Hahahahaha that is how it works but if you go to the little DS at the bottom of the touch screen and tap it there will be a fixer manual use it and when you are done the system will shut off and just turn it on again and also the touch screen is the most important thing on your ds so keep it scratchless and clean! On some games the top screen is an important thing and somtimes it doesnt show anything

Ds lite

sorry to say that your top screen needs completely replacing if it is doing as described!!
the bottom screen and the touch screen are seperate, jus mounted on top of each other, so if the picture works on the bottom then the bottom screen is fine just the touch screen is broken. again i think if the cables/ribbons are in correctly and it isn't responding then it will need replacing!!

Scrambled screen

Sounds like your touch screen is broken. Two choices. One: If it still has a warranty, then send it in to Nintendo for repair. Two: Search on sites like Ebay for replacement touch screens, and buy one. Then replace the faulty touch screen with the brand new touch screen.

Bottom screen scrambled on nintendo ds lite

This option is only suitable for out of warranty devices as opening it violates the warranty.

Open the device following this info:
How to dismantle an Original Nintendo DS.

If yours is the NDS Lite, just find this video in youtube:
"Disassembling Nintendo DS Lite"

The bottom screens have 2 wrap wires, one big and visible, that is the screen cable, the other is small and not so obvious and this one is for the touch screen and you dont want to get it broken.

The cable connectors release the cable by lifting ot pulling the brown or black lock and be sure to remember how it was connected so you can know the right position of the cable when connected right not having any problem with loosen cables before you finish.

Good Luck...

Ds lite is broken

If you mean PHYSICALLY broken (as in cracked) then hit Ebay. Nintendo doesn't sell replacement parts. You will also nned a miniature Tri-Wing screwdriver to open the case.
