have you got the drivers and the software installed for the touchpad as this can be a common problem when double-tapping the pad

    Hi again.
Look at the bottom right hand side of the screen, if you can see a box with alittle meter that moves only when you touch the pad then thats the utility, just click on that and you will be able to adjust the touchpad properties from there.
If that does not work then perform a system restore through all programs, accessories, system tools and them system restore and take the machine back to yesterday or the first available date you can see.

    Hi again.
If you perform a system restore (not recovery) you won't loose anything, only a system recovery does that.

Yes you have tried everything to get it working to no avail, taking it back to the shop for the engineers to look at would be a good idea now.

I turned off my touch pad to my acer aspire 5733z and it wont turn bk on

Locate the "Fn" key in the lower right or left corner of the laptop keyboard.

The "Fn" key typically has different colored text on it or the key itself is a different color.

Locate the function (F1 through F12) key at the top of the keyboard that disables or enables the touchpad on the laptop.

The key typically has an icon that resembles a touchpad with a finger touching it or a touchpad with a diagonal line through it.

Press both the "Fn" and touchpad Function key simultaneously to reactive the touchpad on your laptop.

Move your finger along the touchpad to verify that it works.

Press the combination at any time to disable the touchpad again.

hope this helps

Emachines e725 Touchpad Not Working

The eMachines E725 has a built in switch to toggle the touchpad on or off by the touch of a button. Look at the button to the left of the main power switch. You'll notice the icon looks like a hand touching a rectangle - or touchpad. if this button is lit up, the touchpad is turned off. simply press the button to toggle the touchpad back on. The light on the button should now be off.
It's that simple.

Touch pad stopped working

I recommend you to uninstall and reinstall touchpad drivers to isolate the issue.
Press Windows key and R. Type devmgmt.msc in Run window and click on OK. Click on "+" sign beside Mice and other pointing devices in Device Manager.
Right click on Touchpad and select Uninstall.
You will be prompted to restart the computer.
Windows detects touchpad and the touchpad drivers will be reinstalled automatically.
You can also install touchpad drivers from your notebook support website.
You can reinstall the drivers from the below links:
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5920.html
http://www.laptops-drivers.com/acer-notebooks/download-drivers-acer-aspire-5920-notebooks.html
However I suggest you to install the drivers by visiting the acer support website.
Also perform windows update.
