Gateway 6020gz died during a critical battery alert

tries to restart but battery is dead so it shuts right off

won't recognize AC whether battery is plug in OR not

I believe the computer is stuck in critical battery mode and until I get a new battery in, unclick the darn box, it won't recognize the AC.

Gateway online support said I had to ship my laptop to them. Crazy!!

Said they ship batteries dead - that can't be, right?

If i can get a new battery it will be sent with a limited charge, right?

    any suggestions

I tried to turn on my computer and it won't start, so I read your solutions and cannot discover how to take out the battery to restart, or try to start my computer. How do you take the battery out, and where is it?

I was given a Gateway MX6450 note book but I cannot get it to power on at all. I have tried with the battery removed as well. I have even inspected the circuit board around the dc power adapter and everything looks good. What else could there be wrong? Please help!

Laptop shut off, wont come back on, what to do?

Remove the main battery and power on, in some cases the battery will shut the computer down, failing that! the power supply charger will need to be checked for proper voltage, the other issue I come across is a bad DC jack in the laptop, it breaks free from the motherboard making it none usuable, the unit will need to be taken apart for repair, The final possibility is bad ram, swap out one at a time see if it will restart.

Remove main battery and power on, if no change! power supply should be checked, if okay! the DC jack in the computer is a common issue, the laptop will need to be taken apart to access the motherboard for repair, a job for a professional.

I have a gateway 450rog laptop and the problem is

Yes, it could be the battery is no longer working correctly. To isolate this, try to test your laptop.

1. Remove the battery
2. Connect the power adapter to the laptop and turn the laptop ON.

Once the laptop work without any problem, then it's the battery. You may need to check if the laptop is still under the warranty and have the manufacturer replace the battery.

Have a great day!

Laptop wont turn on

Try removing the battery and plug in the power adapter and then power on your laptop. If this doesn't work, put the battery back in and plug in the power adapter and try turning it on. If that doesn't work then take the power cable out and try with only the battery. Try in this order and see if it comes back up, if not, you may have some dead hardware.

Gateway Laptop overheated and stopped working.

Usually when the laptop overheats the CPU shuts down, and after it cools down you may be able to power it up again, unless the CPU has failed.
If you are able to get the laptop working, get the fan replaced, if it laptop doesn't boot up then there is a serious problem (most likely a costly one).
