I have a Uniden DECT 6.0digital answering system cordless phone. The model number is D1680-3T. When someone calls they hear my recorded message and they leave a message. When I push the button to hear the messages all i hear is a long Beep. How do I fix this?

You might try going to unidendirect.com, scroll down to "customer service" and click there. a FAQ list comes up. #8 is remote access messages, maybe your other issue would be answered as well.

Hello,
When you configured your telephone you must have come across the Remote Access option, in which you chose a secret remote access code or accepted the one by default. If you don't remember that then you should reconfigure it and choose a secret code different from the factory default.
While you are at it configure the Toll Saver option too. (more about that later)
When you are away you dial your home number and when you telephone invites you to leave amessage, enter your Remote Access code. You will be read various options, among which there is the Hear New Messages option (if there are new messages). After hearing your messages you hang up. and you will be charged by you telco.
With Toll saver On, you telephone answers after 2 rings, if there are new messages, and after 4 rings if there are NO new messages. If your telephone does not answer after the second ring (if you hear the 3rd ring) that means you have no new messages, and you can hang up without being charged by your telco.
Hope it helps.

SOURCE: How do retrieve erased messages on the Uniden Dect
Sorry to tell you, but you cannot retreive a deleted message. These phones use a flash type memory and once data is erased, it is gone.

DECT 6.0 is not a model number, it's the generic name for the cordless phone technology in use. So I can't give you a more specific link than this one, which takes you to Uniden's download page for manuals. Pick your model from the list, and the manual will explain the steps you'll need to follow. Your phone's model number is on a sticker normally found on the rear or bottom of the base unit.
