SOURCE: location of air ride pump

The airpump is located right above the exhaust. Its very easy to have it removed. I have had many problems with the air ride systems. Check to make sure the air lines werent rubbing against the tires...the compressor can be picked up used at many salvage yards for 50 bucks, but if te compressor is lifting the car, then there could be other issues.

You have a leak. Spray the air struts with soapy water to find leak while pump is running.

Need to locate the air pump that supplies the rear shocks.

The pump is back under the rear of car, but by now, the shocks are sure to be leaking, which causes the pump to run too much burning it up. Best fix is to replace rear shocks with coils and dump the self leveling feature, or prepare to pay big bucks to replace most components.

Problems with rear air shock auto leveler.

Hello,

Assuming you did replace with the same type of air-shock, it may seem simple, however ensure the hoses are reconnected and air tight. Spray soapy water on the air lines to check for leaks (you'll need to adjust the load to ensure pump function).
Speaking of pump function; check your pump by turning the key to ON. Wait 30 seconds and you should hear the air pump running under the right rear of the car (under the trunk next to the subframe).
If you can not hear the pump running, then check all fuses. If fuses are good and pump does not run, then it may be time for a replacement pump.

I hope this helps.

Im tryn to locate the air conpressor so I can rise the shocks.

usually this is located under the hood on fender wells. if nothing else start at the shock and follow air line to the pump. the system is on a self leveling switch located on rear axle which adjust to weight of car turning on the pump for proper ride height and comfort. you should determine why this system is not working. and yes usually there is a valve on the pump which allow you to manually introduce air into the system.

My air shocks are down and i don;t know what fuse to look for

the fuse is it the right front relay/fuse box, 60 amps I think. Most likely the shocks leak, then the pump runs too much to keep them up, then the pump burns up and blows the fuse. There are companies that make a shock for the rear to delete the air ride, the air ride can cost a lot to get running again. shocks and compressor.

Rear air ride is flat on 95 deville....what do i

the first thing is the fuses. i've seen many of these that the rear air shocks are bad but customer doesnt know and the pump runs until it burns out, after checking the fuses start the car and listen under the hood for the pump to turn on, if pump turns on then check shocks for leaks, also you would have to make sure the pump is producing air as it runs and the last thing is the level sensor located under the rear of car.

My 98 Cadillac DeVille rear air suspension system works great UNTIL I load weighted luggage in trunk and passengers in back seat. I then drive around for 15 to 45 minutes and thats when the rear end of the...

Common problem on all air suspension vehicles. It could be that there is a hairline crack in one of the shock bladders or that the pump is just too weak to pump up to it's intended pressure, a sensor or solenoid could also be bad.

Whenever I run into this problem I order a spring conversion kit for that vehicle, it is usually not worth spending $3000+ to repair the suspension.

www.Strutmasters.com sells the best kits, $327.00 for the rear. It also comes with a resistor so that your suspension light is not on.

99 Deville rear air shocks not working.

This is an expensive repair sometimes and you may want to replace this system with inflatable air bags that fit inside the rear coil springs and then are inflated. I think they cost about $80.00 or $120.00 depending on the car.

1998 seville sts check suspension light stays on. New shocks on rear.

that system has a pump, you should hear it run when you start the car. it also has a bleed valve. i have seen the valve get stuck before. i don't remember what year caddillac stopped putting the suspension switch in the trunk, but if the switch has been turned off the light will remain on as well. there is a level sensor under the rear of the car connected to the suspension you can try to disconnect the arm and manually move it and see if the pump kicks on. there is a few second delay before you hear the pump. if the fuses are good and the switch is on check for voltage at the pump when you move the level sensor. check for signal from the sensor. if pump runs and shock don't air up check for air leaks with soap water spray, and/or air bypassing valve. hope i helped you...dustang
