Re: monitor

I don't what kind of monitor you have or how old it is, but there should be buttons on the front of your monitor.  Refer to owners manual on how to use them.  If you don't have the owners manual let me know, so I can try to find it for you. Good Luck!

The UPS in this office is out of order, message that appear on screen is 'UPS V OUT LIMITS' and 'Battery critical'

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
Plug the battery backup into a working electrical outlet. If the battery backup turns on when the power button is pressed, then the problem may be that the previous electrical outlet is faulty. Proceed to step three. If the battery backup doesn't turn on, proceed to step two.
  • 2 Reset the circuit breaker on the battery backup. APC battery backups have a labeled circuit breaker button located on the unit near the phone line, fax line, USB, network and coaxial cable inputs. Press the button to reset the circuit breaker. Power on the battery backup by pressing the power button. If the battery backup powers on, proceed to step three. If the battery backup doesn't turn on, proceed to step six.

  • 3 Determine if the battery backup is charged and providing battery power. With the battery backup on and plugged into a working electrical outlet, plug a computer monitor into one of the battery backup outlets labeled "battery backup plus surge protection" on the battery backup. (APC power supplies have some outlets that provide only surge protection while the other outlets provide surge protection plus battery backup.) Turn the monitor on. Unplug the battery backup power cord from the wall outlet. If the monitor remains on, the battery is holding a charge, supplying electrical power and the battery backup is working properly. If the monitor goes off, proceed to step four.
  • 4 Charge the battery. Plug the battery backup into an electrical outlet and allow the battery to charge for 16 hours. This will fully charge the battery.
  • 5 Test battery charge. Once the battery is fully charged, repeat step three. If the monitor stays on when power is interrupted to the battery backup, the issue is solved and the problem resulted from an incompletely charged battery. If the monitor turns off when power is interrupted, the battery within the battery backup is faulty and needs to be replaced.
  • 6 Replace the battery backup unit. The unit itself is faulty. If the battery backup is under warranty, contact APC to request a replacement.

MGE Galaxy 3000 UPS, do i require to reconfigure the ups after battery replacement? Thanks.

No you don't have to reconfigure the UPS after battery replacement. However you may have to reset the battery Timer. There are 4 possible ways.
    1. Press and hold the fault reset button for 3-5 seconds
    2. Press and hold the fault reset and security key simultaneously for 3-5 seconds
    3. Press an dhold the fault and alarm silence buttons simultaneously for 3-5 seconds
    4. Cycle the logic Power. This means to remove power from the main processor.
    5. Call MGE. They have the software to reset the battery replacement alarm

I hit the button to turn it on it will stay on for awhile and then it will start beeping really loudly an shut off

With your UPS turned off, unplug your PC and all other devices from the unit. Then turn the UPS on. If it still beeps and shuts off your UPS internal battery may need to be replaced or you have an internal UPS failure. Look for a red "battery alarm" light on the front of your UPS.

If the UPS does not shut down with all devices disconnected from it, Power off your monitor and look on the back of the monitor for a label which will tell you the amount of power it requires (probably 100 watts or less). Plug the monitor's AC power cord into your UPS and turn on your PC and monitor. With the UPS plugged into the AC line you are not using the internal battery and the UPS should remain on and your monitor should be working. If it shuts down you have an internal problem with the UPS.

Now unplug your UPS from the AC line (simulating a power failure) Your UPS is rated at 350 watts. Accordingly it should easily support the 100 watt load of your monitor. If the UPS continues to provide power to the monitor for 1 or 2 minutes down it's an indication that it's working properly and the COMBINED LOAD of your monitor. PC etc. when plugged into the UPS is exceeding the 350 watt capacity of the UPS. You will have to disconnect 1 or more devices from the UPS.

NOTE: Never plug a laser printer into an UPS.

If the UPS immeadiately shuts down after disconnecting it from the AC line with only the monitor plugged into it you have a bad battery.

Ac plug in for E15T flat screen monitor

If it has been ripped out of the back of the monitor, then you will need a new monitor. If it has an area in the back of the monitor where you can plug in one end of a power cord, then all you need is to buy you a cord that fits your monitor.

    My laptop screen

Occasionally the toolbars just transfer themselfves to the side. If this is the problem, and say the toolbars are on the right side, just point near the lower part of the toolbar and then keep the left click mouse button down and drag it back to the bottom of the screen. May take several attempts.

Default on monitor'll need the disk that came with monitor or PC at the beginning. Maybe on disk with utilities and drivers. Also, if you have video ram, that's a factor too.

Assuming that nothing is electronically wrong with the IBM 9494, it should work with the old monitor cable (VGA) as well as the old monitor power cord.

    Kind regards.

Honestly, sounds like theres either a connection problem between the monitor and the motherboard, or the video card died. On the rear of a laptop, theres a serial port (serial meaning a rectangular shape with a bunch of pin holes in it), its used to connect a laptop to an actual computer monitor. Attempt to do this. Its plug and play, meaning it should just work. If you still get no picture on the other monitor, its probably your video card, Look into getting a new one for your pcimia slot (which is the slot located on the side of your computer, which alot of the times, a wireless card is in it). If it DOES show up on the monitor, it may be a faulty connection with the monitor to montherboard...which honestly, I'd recommend letting someone who knows what they are doing, take it apart and make sure... Cus laptops are tricky and delicate to take apart and check yourself.

If its a laptop, odds are, the screen is an LCD, and MOST LCD screens have a half life of at least 20 years... So I'd check the connection before id call it the monitors problem >.< Hope this helps.

first enter in the laptop setup, and find the video option, there you will have something like this:
    onboard, extern, both (choose both)
    turn off the tv.
boot up windows, right click desktop, properties, choose configuration tab, there wil be two screen, one for monitor the other for tv.
on tv side choose 640x480 (you can try higher resolutions later).
    reboot and turn on tv.
