Hello,
Well if a microphone is exposed to to much vibration shock it can shatter the diaphragm that is in the microphone, which is crucial to how it works. In my opinion I would attempt to use the fan trick, and if that does not work I would call the phone manufacturer.

Hello kent581,
take out the mic and dry it properly. make sure it is completely dry with no moisture, then reassemble it. If you are lucky, it will work again as long as there are no bridging of cables by the liquid that got into it. If it does not work, you may have to get another mic to replace it. cheers!!!

I have already run it under 2 fans for an hour, it works because I can hear it produce very loud noises faintly. I need the microphone to work @ normal sound levels.
the phone is 2 days old, it hasn't been dropped yet, I am not certain if it could sustain a shock in the pocket while in the washer. We have the new style low impact washing machine. I would like to know what I can do to make this microphone work.
