If this doesn't work, you can reset your device. To do this, press and hold the Power button for fifteen seconds. Release the Power button when device begins to restart.

I can't get my tomtom to turn on. It is plugged

Straight from the TomTom website:

To reset your TomTom device, do the following:
  1. Check that the battery is charged properly.
Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.

  2. Remove the SD card
If your device uses an SD card, remove it.

  3. Reset your device.
Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button for 15 seconds. See the pictures below for where to find the reset button.

  4. Turn your device on.
Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds.

  5. Insert the SD card
If your device uses an SD card, insert the SD card.

    I hope this helps!

Tomtom go 4V00.710. Green light is on when charging but tomtom will not turn on.

i had the same problem; there is a simple reset solution, which is not described in either of the manuals which i have.
This involves removing the SD card, pressing a (tiny) reset button for 15 seconds, pressing the on/off switch for 5 seconds, then replacing the SD card. To locate the reset button, try the TOMTOM website/Support

My computer will not acknowledge my tomtom go 720 is plugged in to usb connector power light is on in charging cradle but computer says not connected

I had the same problem. I tried uninstalling software and re-installing it. That did not help. I reset my TomTom Go 720 with the reset button on the bottom of the unit. The computer then recognized my TomTom.

Frozen tomtom go 910

Hi, Not a nice problem that. Try connecting your tomtom to PC ( not through home ) so the tomtom will look like a USB drive in "My Computer". if TomTom Home tries to load up , cancel it. Look in "My Compuer" If you do see the TomTom as a drive , open it up and copy the folders and files to your PC. If that works, now you have a backup and you can have a mess around knowing that if you mess things up , at least you can put things back as they were and you won't have made anything worse than it was before. Once thats done , try a harder reset in normal way but also hold the ON button in whilst doing the reset . Many people press too hard on the reset button and also hold it too long so just give one single press , only hard enough to feel it click in , then out. Thats all it needs for a reset and it avoide damaging the switch ( yes , I have seen many reset switched stuck in or broken ). I think theres 2 possible causes for your problem . 1/ You now have a corrupted file on your TomTom preventing the boot-up continuing. 2/ Your Tomtom is still trying to perform the last function ( backing up through TomTom-home ) and has somehow got stuck in that loop. For the moment , try the above and see how you get on and if you donn't solve it please post on this forum again .

Good luck .

Charging but nothing on screen

A good place to start is a reset. -Make sure the battery is charged completely (charge for two hours to be sure) -remove the SD card, if you use one -hold down the reset button with a pen for at least 15 seconds -release the reset button and hold down the on/off button for at least 5 seconds. -replace the SD card If that doesnt work: Make sure you have the latest software for the device by using TomTom Home. Sometimes just updating the software will kick it into gear, so to speak. And lastly, if it is just dead, contact TomTom customer care and they will repair or replace it for you. Before you call them make sure you have a TomTom account. To register:https://www.tomtom.com/myTomTom/myProfile/ Hope this helps!
