Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

According to the wiring diagram that I have, there should be two hot wires going to the stock am-fm-cassette radio on my 95 corolla. One being a grey wire, and the other a blue wire with a yellow tracer.I have juce to the gray wire, but none to the blue wire. I only found one fuse for the radio. Am I missing a fuse somewhere, or is there an in line fuse?

I had already checked both boxes. I need advise from someone who has worked on corollas. Thanks for trying.

I need to know the routing on the blue wire with the yellow tracing. I need to know where it originates, and if it goes thru a fuse,or a fuse link. The color coded wires are different on all cars. That is the reason I need advice from someone who is famillar with toyota wiring. All I want addressed is the grey wire and the blue wire with the yellow tracer. I have power in the grey wire, but I didn't check to see if it goes thru the fuse box. Thanks

I found the problem- The blue wire is fused as dome light. The radio and dome light are are on the same circuit. I found the problem when I got a wiring diagram. Thats all I wanted someone to tell me, because I didn't have a wiring diagram. I'm sorry, but thats all that I asked for in the first place.

There may also be a fuse box under the hood aside from the one under the dash board, some hondas are like that, dont know for sure on toyota but you can check, and there may be an inline fuse on the harness coming from the back of the radio.

regardless of wheather someone has worked on corrollas or not, that is not the issue. your car is not special just because its a corroll, all radios hook up the same way. you may have burned up part of your harness, if thats the case you will need to run your own wires from the fuse box to the radio.

Toyota corolla radio wiring diagram

The back of the stock radio should have a description of what wires are what to help with replacement. Or you can go to your local parts store and buy a chilton manual for your car, they have wiring diagrams in them.

I have a used unit, need instructions on how to hook it up to a caddy 1995 factory am/fm radio

Are we talking a new deck/stereo or new speakers/subs?
A new deck will require a wiring harness (cheap at walmart or local auto place) and this will come with a set of directions and wiring diagram for your make/model vehicle.
Subs/Speakers can be wired into a stock AM/FM radio (though I have no idea why anyone would want to do this) fairly simply, The wiring diagram will be printed on one side of your stock radio letting you know where to attach the 12v constant, the remote wire, and the speaker wires.

Installing a CD player in '08 Aveo in plac eof stock AM/FM radio

You should check with Car Toys or Best Buy but you will probably need an adaptor and a wiring harness. If your doing it yourself your going to need to know how to get the stock radio out and the wiring diagram for the Aveo. Sometimes you can find the wiring diagram on Google by searching for it but usually finding diagrams for 2008 vehicles takes a year or two before it becomes available.

If your CD player has a tuner in it already you shouldn't need one. If it doesn't have one, that presents some other options.
