Question about Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Overexposed pictures I've had the A75 for several years now, and its been great. When I tried to use it last, I realized that all the pictures it was taking look blurry and overexposed. I've tried to change settings but I'm getting the same result. Is my camera ruined or is there a way to fix this?

Re: overexposed pictures

CCD sensor has stopped working properly that is why your pictures are "noisy" ( see  pic  bellow  )  You  are  in  luck  because  Canon  agent  will  repair   this  particular  fault  free  of  charge  even  if  your  camera  is  out  of guarantee ,  so  phone  them. b9dcb97.jpg

You've been pretty lucky. :)
I had an A75, loved it!
It lasted me about 4 years before I started to have problems. Sadly, at the time this wasn't publicised, so I wasn't aware of any free repairs.

Please take a look here, and see if there is a remedy available for your camera.
Canon issues advisory notice

It's old news, I know, but ... who knows ... eh?

Good luck.

When I turn on my Canon PowerShot A75 digital camera, it has streaky pink lines. When that finally clears up,(which may take several minutes) it usually has a pink tint. If I try to take a picture, the...

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager, and is a known defect for your particular model camera.. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free if you live in the US, Canada, and a select few other countries. If you live outside the US, contact Canon support for your country to see if they'll still honor the advisory (some still will, especially if you stress you knowledge that this is a known defect of the camera). They may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please see this link for more info.

Affected cameras with this problem include: A60, A70, A75, A80, A85, A95, A300, A310, S1 IS, S60, S400, S410, S500, SD100, SD110, IXUS V2/V3/300/400/430/500/II/IIs, IXY Digital 200a/300a/320/400/450/500/30/30a

I have a canon digital camera. The display is not working.

The A75 was a great camera, but after about a year of use, many complained of problems such as the one you describe (search on "Canon A75 Black Screen of Death" to see :-).

I believe that for a time Canon was offering replacements, but that was several years ago, so it is likely that this program is no longer available (might be worth a try at, but don't get your hopes up). The only good news is that you can get a much, much better version of this camera, the Canon A590 IS for just over $100.

Canon A75 No startup sound & display on LCD, rest of things works fine

Think it might be your batteries. 700mah batteries are pretty weak by today's standards (most are at least 2,500 mah these days). I'm guessing your batteries are several years old? If so, they're really only meant to have a usable shelf life of a few years, whether they are used or not. Recommend trying a new set of rechargeable batteries.

Black lcd monitor with lines runing arond it like crazy Any Help

oh. good. its not fault of LCD. your CCD has fault.
according to your problem you wont get photos also recorded in your camera i think.

but if you are able to use a view finder and take photos means its not a costly fault.

else means try this.
connect it to your TV usng AV cord. if you are able to see pictures means there is some fault with the connections inside for LCD from CCD.
