Question about Emerson MW8777W Microwave Oven

It just stopped working. It's plugged in and the fuse is not blown. Is it broken for good? We haven't had more than 6 months.

If it stopped working while it was running it is almost certainly the thermal fuse. To see the location go to;
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=261105
and click on Cabinet and stirrer in the left-hand side.
This fuse protects the unit from overheating and fires. If the machine is under warranty you can get them to fix it. If not, you can remove the therm fuse and take it to Radio Shack® and get a replacement.

Open the back and look for a blown glass tube fuse. If the filament is broken, replace the fuse. If it's a solid fuse, do a continuity test. If you have continuity, then it is still good. Good luck!

Ge 1235ww microwave went dead..no power,,breaker & plug good

The main fuse in the microwave oven has blown, sometimes replacing it will get it up and running. If it fails again the most likely problem is caused by one or more latch door switches that have encrusted food particles or it has stopped working. Unplug microwave and remove top, "2-6 screws" next look at the right side where the keypad is and look for a silver rectangular capacitor near a circuit board, short a screwdriver across the two points of the capacitor to remove high voltage that may be present, you should see a small fuse that is clipped, remove and replace with same current rating and use extreme caurtsion when power is applied with top off, it can kill.

There are condensation, water drips between the glass on the door of my over the counter microwave/convection oven. Is this a problem? How can I clean this? Microwave is only 6 months old.

HELLO.

Yes.Water can only drip between the glass on the door when the door do not seal properly due to dirt on the microwave door.follow these steps given below to clean the door.

1. Unplug the microwave from the electrical outlet to prevent electrocution. Place the microwave in a well-lit area to be able to locate the fuse.

2. Use a screwdriver to remove the outer cabinet of the microwave, and follow the power cord to the fuse. The fuse is located 2 to 3 inches within the microwave and is attached to the power board.

3. Observe the fuse to determine if it is blown. Blown glass fuses will produce burn marks on nearby surfaces, or the internal fuse wire will be black and melted, while ceramic fuses show no outward appearance of being blown.

4. Determine if a ceramic fuse is blown by testing it with an ohmmeter. If the ohmmeter reads zero ohms, your fuse is not blown. Other readings on the ohmmeter show that your fuse is blown.

5. Replace the blown fuse by popping it out of its holder, and snapping a new fuse in its place. Tighten the fuse clips by squeezing them together with your fingers.

6. Replace the outer cabinet of the microwave, and plug the microwave back into the electrical outlet. Test the microwave to see if it's working properly.

Thanks.

My microwave just stopped working. No problems until now. In the middle of cooking it just stopped. No display, no beeps, no bouttons working, no light inside. There is power to the outlet I can plug in...

for the microwave to stop suddenly it has blown its internal fuse this is located under the top panel of the unit it should be white with two silver tips ( ceramic fuse) in some cases the fuse will blow for no good reason on the other hand it can be a serious fault the fastest way to check this is to replace the fuse and re test the unit if the fuse blows instantly then bin the microwave if not it the fuse may have simply failed

best of luck always remember unplug the unit first and always replace with same size and and current fuse

please rank this advice if it helped you

MICROWAVE WILL NOT HEAT

In my case I found an additional fuse, a high tension fuse (5KV 0.8A) in a white on-line isolation slave next to the transformer.
The fuse was blown.
I guess replacing it should solve the problem.

Generally, you get something unless the fuse inside is blown. There is generally a fuse inside the unit when you remove the button package. First, make sure that the outlet you have is good. Plug something else into it and see that it works.
