NEED CORRECT WIRING DIAGRAM FOR CAR ALARM WITH REMOTE STARTER MODEL NO:NT898SA. PROBLEM IS THERE ARE 4 RELAYS IN TOTAL 1 FOR CUT OUT/STARTER AND THE OTHER 3 FOR THE VARIOUS SEQUENCE REQUIRED TO START THE CAR TAKING FEEDS OFF ALL TERMINALS ON REAR OF IGNITION SWITCH. HOWEVER THE SUPPLIED DIAGRAM STATES THAT YOU JOIN UP ALL .5 WHITE CABLES TO +12V AS WELL AS ALL 1.5 RED CABLES WHICH ALL THS DOES IS MAKE THE RELAYS OPEN CIRCUIT AND DEFEATS HAVING A RELAY IN THE FIRST PLACE. thanks

Relays are wired correctly (all except one) what you are doing is supplying the one side of the relay contacts with +12V and one side of the relay energising coils with +12V. the other side of the relay coils are switched on independantly by the -0V from the various outputs from the alarm unit. When relay coils are energised +12V is output through the relay contacts to ACC (accessories) IG1 & IG2 and ST (starter) in sequence. The problem with the cicuit seems to be the IG1 & IG2 relay this seems to just switch +12V between IG1 & IG2 one of them remains on all the time according to weather the relay is energised or not - this is not right. So I have wired the n/o contact of the relay to IG (1 or 2) wire which controls the ignition circuit - this is usually the last ignition wire before the starter wire on the ignition switch.

Drawing Shurlok ER150

Not familiar with that unit but i was an i stall er for many years. Usually there is an external relay used and it is usually located near the wiring harness that is in the steering column. They are supposed to be wired in such a way so that if either the alarm or relay fail the starter will still work. Basically it only disrupts the starter when the alarm is triggered. There are a very few alarms where the relay is built into the module. Either way the factory starter wire has to be cut. So trace the starter wire from the ignition switch and you should find a break in the wire with wires spliced in. They may also have pulled 2 power leads from that harness as well. Make sure you follow the starter wire.

Uninstalling a remote starter/ alarm system in a 1997 Yukon

Depends on the type of remote. Most common fix 1. Take off the lower drivers side kick panel. 2. Locate the black remote box. 3. You should see a thick yellow wire coming from the steering wheel area that has been cut and then spliced to go into the remote box. This is the feed to starter relay and will have voltage when key in in start position.4. reconnect the yellow wire back together bypassing the box. 5. Find the red wire( power source) that goes to box and disconnect it.

System should be bypassed

Good luck Gary

I bought a Spy brand one-way car alarm/remote start for my wife's 09 Camry. Everything is installed, and works except for the remote start.

Installations of this nature are usually reserved for professionals. However, get out your installation manual. You will also need two single pulse double throw relays and some diodes. First you will need to locate the ground when running. This wire might be labeled " (-) third ignition". The first relay for the starter will be wired like so: starter wire to 86, fused 12 volts to 87, 30 out to vehicle second starter wire, 85 to ground when running. The second relay will be wired 86 to vehicle ignition, 87 to fused 12 volt, 30 out to second ignition, and 85 to ground when running.

Lost my Viper key fob alarm is on and cannot start truck. any solution to disable?

Your alarm should have a button that was installed called a valet. What you want to do is put your key in the ignition turn it to the on position (Don't start it) then with the car in the on position hold down the valet button until the led light on the alarm goes solid and you should here the alarm beep twice. now your alarm will be disabled. To reable the alarm do the same thing.

Can't seem to locate a manual. Just get into the wiring under the dash and follow the larger wires from the alarm brain and cut each wire, one at a time, from the factory ignition harness them tape. Start with just the starter wire to see if that fixes the issue for now. If this problem just started, check to see if there is a tach wire that runs under the hood to a coil or injector. If this wire is disconnected the remote start won't see the car is started and will continue to crank the starter.

Purchased a Thor Alarm with door locks and autostart and trunk release I believe model CF425 and was curious if anyone had a wiring diagram not sure what each wire is. One harness has 12 wires the other...

I have this alarm / remote start / keyless entry system and I have the poorly translated installation manual. Everything in mine installed fine in my 2005 suzuki aerio (except the power locks as the manual is worthless in that area) but I have heard nothing but horror stories from others online since I installed it.

I don't recommend you install it but if you really are determined, here is what the manual says (or tried to say and I spent 4 hrs interpretting / correcting it:

8 wire harness:
-- The 4 wire connector connects to the 4 wires harness part of the 3 relays
-- The yellow connects to the yellow of the breaker relay yellow
-- yellow w/black stripe connects to the oil sensor on the motor (look for single wire connected to sensor and generally a heat shield wrap/weave, mine was blue)
-- orange connects to the brake switch on the brake pedal
-- the blue connects to the door switch /dome light trigger

12 wire harness:
-- 6 central locking wires orange, yellow, and white plus the same 3 with black stripe.. Unfortunately the manual is not clear as to where they connect. The next page of the manual shows diagrams but they mysteriously add a white stripe to all the colors and the white wires apparently become green. I suspect that orange is not likely used in most installations and for positive door lock types (the most popular), yellow goes to unlock and yellow w/ black stripe goes to lock signal and the 2 whites go to 12v+. This is only a guess so don't hold me to it.
-- black is grounded to frame
-- Red is 12v+
-- red w/ black stripe goes to power trunk release (if equipped)
-- The 2 browns go to the left and right turn signals
-- The pink goes to the alarm

Ignition switch connections
----------------------------------------
The breaker relay:
-- blue goes to the ACC ON wire
-- Cut the ignition wire and connect the 2 greens to each end
-- Yellow connects to the yellow of the 8 wire harness

The 3 relays:
-- 4 wire harness connects to the 4 wire connector of the 8 wire harness
-- the 3 reds connects to the 12v+ red of the ignition switch (or thru the firewall to the battery)
-- black connects to the ignition on the downstream side of the 2 greens of the breaker relay
-- white connects to ACC ON
-- blue connects to the starter

Need help

under the dash there should be 1 or 2 red wires going into the the 477T, take the fuse out of the holder and try to start your car with the key, if it still doesn't start there might be a start kill relay hooked to the starter look for a small black cube with 4 wires going into it, it will be hooked to your starter wire, if you use a jumper wire and hook it to pin 30 and 87 it will bypass the relay and your car should start
